Any more info on the Summer Trip for Men's Basketball
Any All-Star games in the area for Griffiths, Ndongo or Davis?

To add on, any idea if these guys will be on campus over the summer? Or not until the fall?

Last night was a great game and I would like to play Hofstra at the RAC and not as a buy game during the last week of December every year. Good test.

Kudos to those 5000 plus who attended.

2 kids who I know Rutgers is getting involved with are Dame Adelekun and Joe Jones of Georgia State. Both would see considerable minutes.

Cliff is not an NBA player as of today and there are many ways being explored to get him NIL at Rutgers.

My hunch is that Paul,Miller and Reiber are not back, but no inside info.

The loss has nothing to do one way or the other with the Dylan decision.

Let's wait to see if Ace signs on the dotted line.No guaranteed there.
Do you think we have a legit shot at Dame?

For anyone asking where’s the depth, most teams don’t play more than 7-8 guys in real games. Palm, Reiber, Miller are fine end of the bench guys and if you think Pike’s bringing in more than 1-2 transfers you’re nuts.
I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, but while we were successful I sounded the alarm bells after almost every game that the way we play and the minutes we allocated to 3-4 guys was potentially going to hurt us as the season wore on.

Do NOT compare us to Oregon or Iowa or most other teams. They don't play nearly with the same intensity as us. They don't fight through screens like we do.

The math has to change. We need more tools in the tool box. We need to trust 8 perimeter players for 4 spots and we can't play starters for 36 minutes everygame.

Paul Atkinson (Yale) was great for Notre Dame. Jordan Brunner (Yale) was a very good rotation player for a 2 seed Alabama. Chris Knight (Dartmouth) was the starting center for 10 seed Loyola last year. Seth Towns (Harvard) was good for Ohio State until he got hurt.

Upgrading over Reiber is exactly the sort of thing we need to be doing.
If Cliff stays we aren't getting anyone nearly this good. It's common sense. Top 5's in the portal are going to places with starting roles available

If Cliff leaves its a completely different scenario, but if Dean leaves and we are looking for a 3rd string backup, these are the types of guys it's going to be

OP knows his **** and is extremely well connected I can confirm. Hes the #1 basketball insider for RU bball and perhaps all of Rutgers athletics. Hes just a very unassuming poster though. But trust me, when he speaks, you listen
I think we all know that, sometimes it's hard to decipher what he's saying though. Definitely appreciate him sharing what he can though

Is there any expectations that Chol will play next season?

i dont actually get why posters are high on him. His offers all mid majors. Can he develop? Sure....thats going to take time but people are penciling him in as a rotation guy based on nothing right now

Never understood grabbing him and having him reclass. I always thought we were thin at the 4/5 this year and was hoping we’d get a grad transfer. Grabbing a senior in high school that wasn’t ready to contribute always confused me. Coach must have thought he was going to get more from certain guys.

I put him at the end of my depth chart optimistically. Hope he’s not another Palmquist (I don’t think he is) and has more to his game than spot up 3’s

High ceiling guy.
High risk, he may never be a B1G level player, high reward - big upside at 6'8" with a big frame and could be a terrific stretch 4, small ball 5 kind of guy.
His jump shot looks clean, he gets it off quickly with solid footwork on catches and off a dribble or two - with that size, that is very interesting.
He also looked like he'd never played man-to-man defense before in his RU appearances.
Seems like a solid fit culture-wise too

Yup - 3 guards on the floor most of the time just like this season
What makes Caleb a guard ? Or Paul ? The fact that they bring the ball up court ? Once in the frontcourt Their skills don’t fit the definition. They are both 3-4 type players but as guards square pegs in round holes for us. You want to know what a guard is ? Speedy Claxton. Brandin Knight. Maybe Simpson becomes that. Paul and Caleb are not real guards.

It should be expected. This was an epic collapse. Reminds me of 2013 football, and we all know what happened there.

Not acceptable to crumble that badly and lose in the first round of the NIT at home. If we lose some of these recruits, why be surprised?

Enough with the positivity crap. This was a meltdown for the ages.
Agreed 100% here, no sugarcoating.

Pike, as the leader, has to get started immediately (which I’m sure he has) on shoring up the ship whether that means adding to the NIL pot (donors need to be worked I know Pike can’t directly influence) or bringing in an offensive-minded assistant who preferably has experience with developing NBA talent.

Ace and Griffiths are elite gets and are going to expect the program to provide what their other suitors can. Both will look to make an immediate impact with playing time and shot selection. The blue bloods and tier 2 teams would get them those looks, we can’t sit back and force them into the whole defense first system or they will transfer.

Back in the day there was this guy @ Princeton, Bill something who was a lights out shooter. lol

Still remember the PU-Michigan game where it was essentially Bradley vs Russell. As I recall they both wound up playing for the Knicks and Bill held his own / helped them to a championship.

Also, on a slight side note, a few years later Petrie was ROY for Portland, after starring for PU... and my fiancée wound up buying his home in West Linn OR about 25 years ago.

Atkinson was a starter, Bruner was a 20 minute guy at Bama...I didn't follow the Dartmouth/Loyola kid and Towns was injured before (Harvard) and after...

I just don't see Pike or this staff, going all in on an undersized 5 man and asking them to play the 4 over Baye Ndongo or Mawot Mag. We already don't take enough 3s and want to add another player that doesn't diversify the lineups.

We should be moving closer to how Marquette, Kansas and other teams can mix and match lineups. We also need to evolve past being solely reliant on holding everyone under 65PPG.....that can't happen if fans want to replace Hyatt with a player who doesn't stretch the defense......it's just going to make it harder for Gavin Griffiths to not find room to score.

Deeply concerning, but not unexpected. Many fans thought the collapse could have unfortunate consequences and this may be one.

I was just looking through the Recruiting/Commitments page over the weekend and I noticed Chol has no rating at all. I had some questions then that I would like to direct to my bar-mates here, if I could! Doesn't Rivals usually catchup with players' ratings after they commit somewhere, even if unrated previously. Was this because he committed late and/or then re-classified? Was he a totally off the radar type of kid...and should we be concerned about that? Was this an example of Pike and the coaches being blown away by the young man and this was as close as we can legally get to stashing someone with perceived potential - offer, then re-classify, then redshirt (was he redshirted?). Thanks for sharing your expertise...this stuff is interesting...but gets confusing. GO RU!
