3rd down on our own 10 yard line and he fights off a sack and runs for a first down. Rather than punting from our own end zone down three in the fourth, we turn it into a 90 yard drive and tie the game.

I am guilty of bashing Laviano this season and calling for Rettig but the kid deserves credit for last night.

That was a very solid play. What I am wondering is if this staff actually watches film. Rutgers had 1 on 1 coverage on outside with 6'4 Patton and 6'6 Agoudosi with no safety help on several occasions. Laviano never once looked over to that side. McDaniels needs to force him to actually throw the ball 1 on 1 vs a 5'9 DB to keep them honest. Can't keep forcing the ball to Carroo.

Very true, CL kept that drive alive early. Was actually shocked he ran, and thought "this kid is going to lead us to victory".....and then the last wheels fell off.

The side step to the left on the third td pass was a thing of beauty to buy that extra moment to give the play to develop and get rid of the ball on time

Before that play was snapped didn't understand the call. As it was happening our TE split out wide like a WR. It was almost like that was a designed QB run up the middle and they were just trying to flood the pass rushers to the outside so he could run up the middle.

Thought it was a little peculiar seeing that we were backed up deep and you were not using your TE for pass protection. It worked so maybe should say great call got the 1st down
