Hopefully fans show up for the Rutgers game to support this squad. The hole that last year put this team into from a perception and support standpoint is palpable. A lot of damage done. It won’t be a snap of the fingers to fix, but need to make a big jump this weekend
The good news is that Seton Hall is starting to develop some national buzz. They are no longer a walking punch line, but instead they are a surprise story. No longer is it just Jerry covering us. The good word should eventually find its way to the casual student-fan and hopefully get their butts in the seats.

If 9-1 doesn't do it. And our next door rival, Rutgers doesn't do it, the students should be ashamed. I say that because I believe the rest of the lower deck will be filled.
I’m a fan and have a lot of history being invested as a fan. I hope students show up too, but I’m not going to accuse them of being ashamed if they don’t. Not just a SHU thing, but I can understand kids being ambivalent about rooting for their peers who are getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars as a “student-athlete”.

Students at quality D1 universities across the country support their fellow students with no regard for the money they earn. That's just an excuse for SHU students to not show up.

Saturday night, no classes, against your rival and the team is 9-1. Sorry, but I stick by my comment. If they do not show up they should be ashamed.

I was not impressed with Kansas State at all. The players body language was awful. Every missed free throw and three they hung their head. It was honestly embarrassing for them and their fans, and I don’t feel bad at all. Won’t be long until that locker room implodes if it already hasn’t.
They have talent. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the low point of their season.

These guys are really taking on Sha's persona and I love it. Late in the game, they cut to several of our players individually and it was just "all business" on their faces. No smiling, no laughing, no celebrating (you can do that later) - just a bunch of guys focused on closing out a road game with a W. Was really nice to see.

100000% with Dan. Show up.

and if any students can do something that thousands of people want to watch and tv stations want to televise, they are gonna see some money too. and i doubt if of all the schools in the ncaa, shu students are staying home to protest nil

Sorry, will have to agree to disagree. I respect independent thought of students and I can understand both sides and not ridicule one because they don’t do “what everybody else does”.

Maybe they just have something better to do.

Reality check! We did play well in some areas but we really won because KS missed free throws. If they made their free throws and they had a lot of them we lose. It's that simple. The Refs were horrible too. They favored KS. KS was 15 for 35 and they are a much better free throw shooting team than that. Haggerty came in shooting close to 80% and was 5 for 12. He looked like he was I'll too.

Anyway great win on the road but we were blessed by a cold shooting KS team.

Also I thought when our bigs were in foul trouble Mbaye should have been given some minutes even 1 or 2 to face off against BUCA the 7 footer who was causing issues. It was a great spot to use him.

This was a dominant win on the road as an absolute betting line under dog. I actually think we got a fair whistle in the first half but after Tang's outburst, which should have gotten him kicked out, KS got every call the rest of the way.

I also think the game plays differently if KS hits free throwsand we still win.

Finally, I don’t believe Mbaye would have helped at all yesterday. If he was ready, he would play. Putting him in the game on the road in the Big 12 is far from a perfect spot.

Fair enough. But as the company selling a product, if customers aren't buying your product. Maybe you have to look at your marketing? Idk. But the idea that SHU as an organization cannot possibly do anything more to entice students to go to games? From a sales and marketing perspective that seems like victimhood mentality.

And this is only a student at Seton hall problem? I guess every other school accepts non apathetic sports fans and shu only accepts students apathetic to sports? I guess no one can possibly do anything other than pray at night that the students become absolutely ashamed of themselves for not going to sporting events and they wake up and realize how important this is for their lives and become good upstanding D1 basketball fans?

I don't have the answers but something is wrong with the culture on campus. And to just blame the students and fans is lazy and simple -- but that is the shu way, after all.

I gotta think the student section is going to be completely packed for RU.
