As the undefeated, top-seeded team in the NCAA Tournament, it's no surprise Kentucky has the biggest bulls-eye on its back. One opponent has already hintedthat his team could be the one to knock the 'Cats off, and was proven wrong.
Today, West Virginia freshman guard Daxter Miles went one step further than Cincinnati's Octavius Ellis did. He didn't suggest that the Mountaineers would beat UK, he guaranteed it.


Bold and prescient or brash and foolish? We'll see tomorrow night.

Yea, bad is probably not a good way to describe UK shooting. Average is probably a better description. WVU is offensively challenged. There is no way around that. They are defensively challenged as well in the half court. WVU's strengths are pressure defense (creating turnovers) and offensive rebounding. WVU needs A LOT of extra possessions to win.

Yeah, because UK is SOOooo bad on offense - the #6 adjusted offense in the nation per KenPom.

UK's #6 offense against WVa's #39 defense, and UKs #1 defense against WVa's #37 offense

I know, you all think your press is going to make the difference. But turnovers go both ways. UK ranks 12th in TO margin -
WVa ranks 2nd....not that much a spread. It might mean another 3-5 points for WVa statistically .... But we'll see how the real numbers work tomorrow

Kentucky is #35 in fg%. WVU is #275. The shooting doesn't even compare.

It's making headlines because it's been a four day break and nothing else to talk about. If UK was playing anyone they would be talking about it because there's nothing else to talk about. I don't think either team is afraid of the other, just mutual respect. If this game would have been in the second round, not a peep would have been said about any of this.
