Wonder how much ESPN will manage to screw up Red Zone. It doesn’t need changing so don’t mess with it just for the sake of change. Leave it as is.
Think NFlL still controls Redzone.

According to a joint statement, ESPN will own broad rights to RedZone, including the trademark, and continue to distribute the channel to pay TV operators. The NFL will continue to own, operate and produce the RedZone channel and will keep the rights to distribute it digitally.

How many more years before an event like the Super Bowl is offered only via pay-per-view style. Regardless of streaming subscription or not. I say less than 10

That will depend on if the NFL thinks it can recoup the hundreds of millions it will be forgoing from its network partners to make that a reality.

Doing this will greatly devalue those contracts as the networks rely on being able to sell those Super Bowl ads to defray the rights fees they are paying.

I say...immeasurable.

The NFL is lord over marketing, and they LOVE, absolutely LOVE that the Super Bowl is basically a national holiday/event; it draws casual...heck, non-fans, crowds at home parties/watch events etc.

No, I don't ever see them moving this to streaming (unless all over the air goes away...which I don't see either) and in fact they are getting closer to making their dream...a true Super Bowl Holiday weekend, a reality. Within 5 years they will move the game back one more week...to coincide with Presidents Weekend...something they have been working toward for many years now. And they will market the heck out of that.
