That's how cults tend to work.

Iran war buries fresh Epstein revelations. Amazing!

Can we just not do this **** right now??

Nothing is learned or accomplished by getting the thread locked and both sides of the aisle have had multiple awful moments through the years, including the previous 4 when we don't even know who the hell was actually making the decisions Biden supposedly was.

The need for this attack/war doesn't make sense to a lot of people. The timing doesn't make sense. The sudden need to do it doesn't make sense.
So they are suggesting, serious or joking, the motivation is to take away from a different issue.
I mean, that has been a motivation in the past so it's not the craziest possibility.

Others have offered up their guesses for why it's happening, as well as their support.

This should have been done when the protests were at their height in Iran. instead the carrier assigned to the Middle East was in the Caribbean blowing up ski boats.
Have to admit the blowing up ski boats part is pretty dang funny in both ways

Hopefully they bomb the $h1t out of them and destroy critical sites. Then maybe the people can make their own change.
They destroyed the critical sites last summer. I remember- SPS and Trump said so.

...or was last summer's bombing Operation Just The Tip, and now we are in full penetration mode?

No. I'd like to know why we are are doing this and what the plan is. The messaging is all over the place. Blindly accepting the next rationalization is eventually disastrous. Especially from a man whose mind has left him (that's both Biden and Trump if you are paying attention).

I hope the actual organization of our military assets and troops is better organized. Bombs are expensive and lives are priceless.

Iran is a threat for sure, if they ever get a nuke it will be used. Their leaders see it as their religious purpose to provoke the apocalypse. Their religion tells them they will be the winners.
Yes, don't want a guy who thinks if he dies he's going to get laid by 72 virgins having his hand on the button....I mean it is all time undefeated.....there is something poetic about it if it ended the world ****

I just wish I could trust any news, right or left, our government, anyone to give actual facts about what is happening /has happened.
This. 100% this. During the Minnesota fraud stuff I made a concerted effort to see how much of it fell on Walz. I spent probably an hour and when I was done I was more confused than when I started. Every freaking article had an agenda. From every website.

I think the more frustrating part to me is the way Americans in general lap up the reporting as long as they like said agenda.

Attacking Iran may be the greatest military move in history, it may be the worst. Good luck figuring it out from our trusted news services

I haven't thought to laugh at all the people we killed without need or proof on the boats we blew up.

I also haven't laughed at Carrottop's comedy, but others apparently do. Maybe it's like that. Maybe for me, blowing people and boats up is like Carrottop performing.

I don't understand the end game here. What are our long term goals and how do we achieve them?
I hope there are long term goals that have been considered, but I doubt they are well formed, if they exist at all.

- Are we going to take Iran on as a project like Iraq and Afghanistan, be there for decades, and try to force a sustainable democracy to exist?

- Are we going to bomb some sites, claim total destruction, then ignore the fact that it isnt totally destroyed?

- Are we going to remove leadership and then walk away like Venezuela, while claiming regime change but installing someone who worked for and supported the last leader, only to also not claim regime change and say it's for oil(economics), while also claiming it's to keep 'evil' countries from influencing countries near us that see actually on another continent?

I welcome a coherent and logical endgame plan.

This is not about a nuke, Trump is on record last year saying we completely obliterated their nuke capabilities. This is about regime change. That is what Israel wants and we are working on their behalf. For us, I think it is about taking out another chunk of China’s oil.
Just damn

We need to stop allowing the president get away with this much power. We have opened a door that basically eliminates congress. It may be great if you’re a Trump fan today, but it has opened the door for Dems which I fear.

The Office Thank You GIF

I don’t give a fúck who is in power. The unified executive theory has gained too much traction. I said it when Bush was in office, I said it when Obama was in office, I’ll say it until I am blue in the face. The balance of power has shifted to wildly to the Executive and if you disagree with that don’t ***** when a Democrat is throwing Executive orders that are unconstitutional too.

I've seen enough to know this stuff will happen under all stripes of American leadership, so I'll move on from debating left and right.

I'm glad to see the Iranian people are going to maybe have a chance to create something worthwhile after 50+ wasted years. This is a massive country with incredible resources and it has been under the thumb of greedy violent primitives for far too long.
Maybe bombing nuclear capabilities is all we can do? I have a full expectation that infighting among religious factions will rule the day post conflict.

Thank you. For those of us that really believe in small central government, this is extraordinarily painful to watch.

You realize things can be rebuilt?

you realize they maybe thought by what they did Iran would back off?

this isn’t a war. It’s a small battle. If we end up with infantry on the ground. Whine like a bich then. Not navy seals or delta force. Like 10,000 plus infantry. Obama did this similar thing multiple times. I didn’t care.

the difference in trump and most presidents is he draws a line and when you cross it he takes the gloves off which is a phenomenal deterrent in the future. I know you aren’t smart enough to realize that though.

If we can get the Muslim rivals of Iran to go after Iran then they will fall or run within minutes.

That’s been my complaint about people running for office. “I want to slash the wasteful shítty government!!”
Then why do you work so hard and spend so much money trying to work for it? And when you get there, why don’t you leave?

And hope what rises up there will reject violence and terror.
Yeah, this is not what’s going to happen. Best we can hope for is what rises will be weaker & less dangerous

I agree. But that door has been wide open for over 70 years. Last time Congress declared war was in 1942.

Correct. People who don’t value their own lives don’t value others either. I does occur to me that it’s never the jihadist leader who is out in front suicide bombing…so it may be that the leaders fear reciprocal actions enough to not use them? I hope we don’t find out.
