What a terrible game that was. Has to be one of the worst - if not the worst - home loss in the BE era considering we lost by double digits and they were awful. They finished 268th in KenPom.

We also struggled with them for a long stretch the season prior with Richmond, Dawes, Davis, and Bediako before pulling away. Malachi Brown had his SHU moment.

Basically, Riceis saying schedule soft OOC and win those games convincingly rather than over scheduling with tough games. The metrics favor that approach.

If you take that approach then you'd better win big. We beat nobody of note in our OOC two years ago and it came back to bite us. We had some bad luck but maybe beat one of the solid OOC on the schedule and we're in the NCAAs.

Going back some, the BET champion team was not in good shape until we got hot late and had a couple of big wins in the last week or two of the season. Conversely, the 2019 team rode OOC wins over Kentucky and Maryland and a good enough BE season into the tournament.

As the BE overall SOS has slipped in recent years, the effect on metrics has been measurable.

weren't they like 0-7 when we lost?
