Your shtick is old. Big ten teams should always expect to beat Buffalo.
You just want to whine about Greg meanwhile the coaches you claim are better all lost today to teams not as good as Iowa
iowa fan here. was extremely apprehensive about this game because on paper this was a bad match up for us. you might have hit the nail on the head about blitzing deacon…the film likely shows yhat as well. This one is on the coaches. We played right into Iowa’s strengths. You can’t out “conservative” Ferentz. He’s a master of the choke hold. Needed to blitz the **** out that QB, not sit back.
Like that coach in Syracuse said..."EVERY F***ING YEAR!!!"An extremely winnable top 25 game, after a week of some hype. A win would have done absolute wonders for the program. And the team and staff lay an absolute egg.
Happens way too much with this program
With the 3rd string QB who didn’t even expect to play todayNo don’t know you we have to play perfectly every game
Just ask OP how his idols coach prime and leipold did today lol
It's RU football: one step up, two steps back. That's the first Iowa shut out sine 2019 vs. Northwestern. Scoring zero points against Iowa is simply not acceptable. If we didn't play Wagner and sneak by a down MSU team this year, we're back in the quicksand. And people are talking about giving GS an extension.
When your D ends the first half with an interception, and you get the ball to start the second half, you march down the field and score, not go three and out. You change the whole dynamic of that game. That's really not asking too
In the first possession of the 2nd half we moved the ball from the RU 25 to Iowa 45. (With a questionable spot on 3rd and 1) On 4th and 1 Jonny Football jumped early pushing us back to the 50 and having to punt. It's RU football: one step up, two steps back. Not even a little surprised they lost.
Should have stopped running the play clock all the way downFalse starts. Can't have 3rd and 2 and next thing it is 3rd and 12. Team stunk. Team was bad.
Every season Greg and the team have always served up a “WTF” game….well let’s hope this was the game and move on.An extremely winnable top 25 game, after a week of some hype. A win would have done absolute wonders for the program. And the team and staff lay an absolute egg.

Truth be told Gavin can’t run either he only gains available yard to point of contactNo Gavin runs is inexcusable. He can’t pass. So this is his best weapon.
ZERO tight end receptions, ZERO screens or wheels.
Free Ajani
</End_thread>Disappointed as well.
1st half it felt winnable. We fought for momentum. Moved the ball. Kept shooting ourselves in the foot with offsides penalties and you can't do that on the road, against a ranked team. Should not have been playing games with the snap count still, after the second penalty.
The ref sequence where they failed to call a blatant pass interference and then extended the Iowa drive after a sack with a very questionable holding call away from the play, was yet another crucial sequence decoded by the refs, against Rutgers. Seems like it happens every game.
They scored, got the momentum and never gave it up.
This team lacks a full complement of offensive skill players and TE's. We just don't have those guys and it's tough to compete and win without speed weapons out there. We can scream about the QB and he didn't have a good game tonight, maybe he will develop, maybe he won't but to be a top tier, above Iowa level B1G team, you need all the weapons. We don't have them.
I try to be level headed about this, despite the disappointment. There are years and years of frustration being a Rutgers Football fan and I try to recognize this has nothing to do with these kids and what they're trying to accomplish. They've moved the needle well off the bottom and that's definitely a step forward.
It does feel like no fan base deserves a signature win as a fan base, as much as we do.
Hopefully soon.
Completely inaccurate. Against Iowa’s defense, what could Rutgers have done? Your offensive strengths were countered perfectly by Phil Parker; stuff the run with your base defense and make RU win with the pass. I saw no evidence that was possible and the stats and scoreboard showed it.Very winnable, Iowa is not good
I agree on most of this, but we have six wins and will be in a bowl. The QB and the OC are like swimming with lead weights tied to the ankles. This team hasn’t beat anyone and we are loyal to a qb and OC who can’t do ****
It would be nice if they actually tell him to pull the ball back (or if he is allowed to decide, pull the ball back) when he obviously should. Many times, the containment isn't even moving towards Gavin before the "decision" to give the ball away is made. They know he isnt running. He would absolutely be more of a threat in the running game and keep the defense honest which would open up more interior space for KM. I might be wrong, but all of Gavin's limited runs yesterday (that I saw) were designed, direct snap runs and not as a result of pulling the ball back from KM as an option.Truth be told Gavin can’t run either he only gains available yard to point of contact
He has zero power in his legs
He ran for negative 3 yards yesterday, he is not a threat. He is not a Quarterback, his pocket movement is terrible he has zero instincts
His roll out look awkward and unnatural
Hard to argue with this. But at RU, that’s not bad and you throw in a 2006 every 5-10 yrs. I think that’s getting the best out of RU.Deja vu all over again. Have people not watched Schiano for 20 years? He makes his reputation on beating teams in the lower half of college football, splitting--at best--with teams in the 40s and 50s, and basically always losing to anyone better. That's his ceiling. He's a coach that will get you a 45th ranked team. One toughly contested loss to Ohio State does not yet show otherwise.
you think that is the best we can do? jhc you really are something elseHard to argue with this. But at RU, that’s not bad and you throw in a 2006 every 5-10 yrs. I think that’s getting the best out of RU.

He threw ball away out of endzone more than 15 here vs Wisconsin. We really do not know what Simon can or cannot do... but in the short passing game he hit people accurately and in-stride in limited action. When you have a legit running threat.. that is enough for many teams..
Simon can’t throw a ball 15 yds

If that's what some fans are satisfied with so be it. But some of us who have been constantly attacked for being critics would like to aim higher (or at least see a more entertaining style of game) and would rather the program try for better and fall short than be satisfied with predictable mediocrity. The fatal flaw is his outdated style of play, which even if he had top shelf talent wouldn't get him much higher. Fifteen years ago when I said it's an outdated style I was told Alabama, USC, etc use it--even though we didn't have their level of talent. Today, even with rosters full of stars even those teams no longer use it.Hard to argue with this. But at RU, that’s not bad and you throw in a 2006 every 5-10 yrs. Aim higher isn’t just trying something different. It’s big $$$. There is a correlation between constant success and $$$$. I’m just tired of all the we can build it cheap and then the money will come BS. Or just spend the money we don’t have and it will all work out BS.If that's what some fans are satisfied with so be it. Rutgers is my Eastern team, they’re kind of the Iowa of the East if you think about it. The Hawks are kind of like a Boa Constrictor, they kind if suficate teams given the opportunity. Rutgers can do the same thing.
