Get a pizza from Bella’s. Avery game could be a good one. It’s going to be cold. Hampton,TN plays at home 26 miles away from Banner Elk. Hard nose physical team.Hampton is ranked 9th in 2a in TN.
Man forgot about Bella's. Solid spot as well. The pizza and calzones are delicious.
Puerto Nuevo is really good for mexican as well. The Bayou is a cool spot if you want something unhealthy and deep fried.
I like the Banner Elk Cafe more than the Bayou. If you like BBQ go to Blowing Rock and eat at Woodlands.

Is Newland close to West Jefferson and has the place that brings the food out and serves it in bowls and lg plates like you are at home. You serve yourself all you can eat. Maybe only seasonal.Go to the Avery/Owen game. It's the highest place in the state you can watch a game. They have super nice facilities, and decent bbq in newland. SanDees cafe isn't bad either.

That's it, Shatley SpringsNewland is probably an hour or so from Jefferson. Maybe and hour and a half. You're thinking of Shatley Springs though right outside of Jefferson. Similar place in Boone called Daniel Boone Inn.
shatley springs is awesome, but I’m pretty sure it’s only open seasonally, and has already closed for the winterThat's it, Shatley Springs

Better get there early if you’re gonna party with the Baptists at App. Though fifty degrees, 100% chance of rain and twenty to forty mph wind gusts may keep the crowd down some. Tickets available online. If you get App State tickets a good place to tailgate is up at the baseball stadium or behind Broyhill Center near baseball stadium although a steep walk back after the game. No pass, no cost, no hassell and usually a decent party crowd but always able to find a good spot without overcrowding. Another spot is the Baptist Church on King Street for 20.00 a pop and yes they allow drinking but still a pretty good walk to the stadium. Forget anywhere close to the stadium. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

Me too. My family wants to go, but I’m afraid it may be more trick than treat. We’ll be there. Hope it’s worth it.Man the weather forecast has me worried about that equalizing things. App needs a large victory tonight.

Lol
They allow drinking...
I don’t think they openly allow it. They just get everybody’s money and leave, then pretend it’s not going on. I think there’s still a sign saying no alcohol. They're Baptist of course they do. They'll just talk about you behind your back as they walk into the liquor store![]()

I am of the Freewill (Baptist) faith and that would most definitely not be allowed in our church parking lot.I am a Baptist and I can assure that alcohol would not be permitted in our church parking lot.
I would wager those that made the Baptist jokes are Baptist themselves. And baptism isn't a religion .Why is this conversation about Baptist & alcohol being allowed ? It has nothing to do with football, but putting down a Religion. I find it offensive to our God and Religion !
