While it would be nice for an even 55 split all the way down - we have 58 schools who do not play football (46 charter and 12 public) - so I propose a breakdown like such:

Now for Conferences...with 8 classes you have to split. No way around it. That being said...out east you'll have 4 class split conf due to location (currituck and dare counties and others)...again, no way around it. Even the HSOT guy said this would need to happen.

Also, keep in mind I am assuming that with 5 rounds of playoffs we'll bring back the 11 game regular season. So when you see 9 team conferences...don't get bent out of shape...that equals 3 non-conf games...which is pretty normal now.

this is specifically for what football could be (besides, almost all football playing schools have the "other" sports)

NCHSAA will probably never have sports specific classifications. While I would love that...they will not do it and any coach I've spoken to says it will never happen. So I'm not wasting my time on it.

I always appreciate your work and your efforts! The non-football charters need to be in their own class! Then, you divide them up for all theother classes. The geograph is a bit askew, but that's OK. I'd shoot for single-class conferences if possible even if a conference has only five teams. It's not like some of these five-team single-class teams are on an island. I can see tons of split conferences and even splits that span three or four classes. Other than that, good job!

The ADM diff and mean ADM is what I look at. Disparity happens on the edges...but the biggest gap is in the larger schools.

Does 5 schools make that big of a difference? When looking at mean ADM...a 50 team 2A has a bigger difference in schools above/below the mean

Just how the conference shook out given the breakdown in classes...it all looks much clearer on a map once you put all the pieces on the board

South Davidson and Chatham Central seem to be "outliers." Hopefully, they can fit into some kind of conference.

Nice work. I know that takes a lot of effort, but you've done really well. The Currituck/First Flight problem is a tough one, I don't see another way to solve it other than what you've done. I just wonder how they determine playoffs with that scenario.
