Wes Leasey. Greek god carved out of stone.

Sam Nichols. Played for Tyler. Retired a colonel from the US Army.

Fred Hadley. The brightest spot in tech and 10

Hal Easterwood. Bryant at the time called him the best OL in the game.

One from picayune and the other from Natchez...both sides of the tracks.
Coach Branch currently lives in Picayune, but he’s from Sallis, MS. Played for Dobie Holden at Pascagoula and Pearl River Junior College. Coach Holden ran the T-Formation offense at both Goula and The River. Slick Morton was running the T-Formation at Mississippi State and according to Coach Branch there were bigger and more athletic QB’s on State’s roster at the time, but he got the starting job because he knew the offense. Coach Branch told me that back then Head Coaches weren’t allowed to call plays and so you needed a QB who knew the offense and could call the plays. That’s why he was the smallest starting college QB in the nation when he played. That’s also why he wore #0.
