Yes, I suppose one could argue that …if one were mind-numbingly stupid. You could argue that Golden State actually was better without Curry in lmfao.

They were up by 10 when he was injured and won by 11. In case you weren’t aware, plus 10 is better than plus 1. They were indisputably better when Curry was on the floor last night …the math proves it.What was the score when he went out, and what was the final score?
Not a Curry fan? What was the score when he went out, and what was the final score?
How many games did Golden state win in 2022/2023 with Curry, and without Curry?
Obviously hes a great player and he helps them win. But hes had tremendous help every single step of the way. Whether it was Klay and Dray, or KD taking a paycut, or GSW purposely tanking to get high draft picks, or adding Jimmy Butler. His teams have almost always been .500ish teams without him.
I mean, I see how you're adding it up in that way. In that sense they didn't get better, but they still technically beat the Wolves without Curry, winning by 1.They were up by 10 when he was injured and won by 11. One would have to be an abject dullard to claim otherwise.

Yes, by 1. But they were on pace for a 30-plus point win at the time he went out.I mean, I see how you're adding it up in that way. In that sense they didn't get better, but they still technically beat the Wolves without Curry, winning by 1.

They did a damn nice job holding the lead without him. But it’s a lead they never would’ve had if not for Curry going off before his injury. It takes some painfully strained and dimwitted logic to claim them better without him last night.
I actually tend to agree with your overall argument. Nobody is going to say Curry isn't a great player, but Curry as your alpha makes your offense rather one dimensional. That's why they had to roll the dice on Butler. Jimmy's talents diversify that offense by a ton. Curry is one hell of a weapon, and he can throw an occasional dime, but outside of his shooting, his overall game leaves some boxes unchecked. They had to get Butler cause they needed a more legit alpha, and use Curry as a weapon.Obviously they are better WITH him playing, you can say that about about pretty much every single starting player in the NBA.
My point is that Golden State doesn't "need" Curry the way LeBron and Jordan and Kobe were needed. Look at game 7 in Houston, he no-shows in the first half and Golden state still wins that game. They might have won that series if Curry didnt play a single minute.
It was a lighthearted way to say that hes a bit overrated when his team seems to be fine without him (same as the 2022-2023 season). Obviously we know hes important to the team.

Tyrese Haliburton is universally seen as the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers. This is nothing new so take it up with the entire NBA is you have issue with that commentary that he's not that good.
Yep. Where is this list? There has to be a back story of where this anti-Haliburton stuff came from. Cause it doesn't exactly seem rooted in fact or measurables. My guess is that it's more behind the scenes personal beef BS. The guy isn't Tier 1, but he's a hell of a player, and a team first player. Zero "I and me" to TH the man. Haliburton is appreciated by the folks it matters to. Everyone else just sound like uninformed haters in a weird echo chamber.I don’t get the whole Halliburton is “overrated” thing from NBA players. Where is he rated? lol
He’s a point guard and he’s the best point in the league at 9+ assists and 1.5 TO’s a game. There isn’t another player that is even close on these numbers. And it’s not like the Pacers have a superstar that he dishes off to for guaranteed buckets each time down the floor.
He also gives you 18 pts a game on almost 50% shooting and a respectable 38% from 3. 85% on FTs rock solid.
Top 20 in league in steals
I just don’t get the hate.
Is he overpaid? Maybe.
But overrated? Laughable.
Go Pacers
It’s from some article in the Athletic. Apparently they did an anonymous poll of NBA players who voted Haliburton as the league’s most overrated player.Yep. Where is this list? I think it comes from him having a breakout year and got everyone's attention then had a soso year to follow it. But that happens once you become the focus of the other team's defense.Yep. Instead, this exchange between you and I began solely in response to you presenting an argument “that Golden State actually was better without Curry in lmfao.” Those were your exact words, and they plainly contradict what you now say. Instead of just admitting you were wrong, you’re acting like you said something else.
And, fwiw, your new take is also silly and flawed. But I don’t feel like going down that rabbit hole now.
Yeah, I know where it came from. I question the question. Pretty odd isn't it? Almost like they asked a couple dudes that were probably butt hurt over TH taking an Olympic roster spot. There's more to that story than just an odd random question, IMO. Sour grapes. It’s from some article in the Athletic. I don’t view it as particularly credible simply because of the “anonymous” part.
You can’t really believe that??? LolSo basically, Golden State is good enough to win playoff games without Steph Curry.
LeBron is good enough for Cleveland to be the worst team in the league when he leaves lol.
Just saw that Curry is out at least a week. That means he misses at least 2 games if not 3. I don't see how the Warriors cam overcome that.

Mobley, Hunter, Garland being out for game 2 was the difference and the Cavs nearly won if it weren't for the buzzer beater 3. I'd be so annoyed if I were a Cavs fan. They got out to 20 point leads, multiple times. They just choked.Mobley, Hunter, Garland being out for game 2 was the difference and the Cavs nearly won if it weren't for the buzzer beater 3. Would they have choked with those starters on the floor? They got out to 20 point leads, multiple times. They just choked.
Then explain game 1? Fact is, the Pacers are being undervalued and playing pretty well. And Atkinson, while having a fine regular season, is realizing that it's a different game now. Sure, blame the injuries, even though the scrubs put them into position to win handily. But a lot went into that choke job. Atkinson, and the Pacers to name a few.Would they have choked with those starters on the floor?
They certainly needed another body when they got Butler and were shopping. They got lucky that he's who they got. Who knows where they would be had they gotten someone else? Probably worse. But possibly better.I hate to say this.. again. But they almost literally won the game last night without him. They were +1 without him. And it was on the road. And they have 1 win padding them now.
Im sure the impact is great, and Minnesota will craft a different game plan.. so im certainly not picking GSW now (didnt even with a healthy Curry).. but they are up 1-0 and still have playoff jimmy.. and Minnesota looks plain dumb sometimes, with Ant Man sometimes not showing up.
Speaking of.. what was Golden States current seeding when they signed Butler? Were they a 9 seed or a 10 seed? Lmfao. This team wasn't making the damn playoffs if they didn't get Butler.
I mean, the Pacers definitely deserve credit for stealing 2 games and now can close this thing out at their place. Ultimately, the Celtics will be playing in the Finals againThen explain game 1? Does Stephen A know that? I'd love to beat the Knicks and see his meltdown.I mean, the Pacers definitely deserve credit for stealing 2 games and now can close this thing out at their place. Ultimately, the Celtics will be playing in the Finals again![]()
