Curry wanted to play but the staff would not let him. Furthermore, Gordon was only going to play one game (Game 7), while Steph would have had to play three. There's a big difference. Warriors would have beaten the Wolves in six with a healthy Steph, and had a good shot at OKC, and you know it.
You're delusional lol. If Aaron Gordon plays game 7 and WINS, they are then playing the next series only a few days later, still having a grade 2 strain. It was not some "final game" regardless of outcome. If Denver wins, Aaron Gordon is going to have to play again by game 2 or 3, at the absolute worst.
And I call absolute ******** that Curry wanted to play. It's the playoffs and Golden State was a very hot team. You do what you can to move on to the WCF. If he wanted to play, he'd be in there. Same thing when he was able to come back from a hand injury in like 2019, but because Klay and others were off, he just decides to fold the season. Yeah, you tell Kobe with a trip to the WCF that he's not playing because of a minor hamstring strain... Curry and Kerr and the organization basically gave up.
Nick Wright had a great point on this. Funny that the decision for Curry to sit, in a playoffs that they were inevitably not going to win anyways, almost was done to save his image/status.
