We do not have any real NCAA chances at this moment. We would need to win out going into the BET just to get back onto the bubble (and would still be on the outside of it, but close)....and then make some stuff happen at MSG (get to Saturday night). This team has painfully shown over & over again to not be able to score & has beaten exactly one good team all season (who was not good at that moment). If you think winning out etc can happen based on that, I admire your optimism & hope you end up right, but reality needs to set in at some point with this squad. It's almost March & basically anyone who seemed like they could be a potential consistent shooter for us early on (AJ/Williams/Simpkins), has now shown that isn't going to happen. Yes, our defense is elite, but our resume is awful & I don't know how we win out when we struggle to score 60 points most nights. It's a wrap folks.

Is it fair to say these players have not gotten better as the season went on?

I’d like to hear your list of some who got better. Budd would be the only one on that list in my opinion.
I would say Budd got better. I guess one could argue that Rivera and maybe Parker also improved.
In general most everything about this team looks bleak.

Are you going to answer my question? Just curious if by “these players” you meant the 3 mentioned or the whole team

At the beginning, Rivera was far from one of my favorites.
I wouldn't mind having him next year at all.

The whole team. I thought by saying who got better other than Budd, I was asking about more than those 3. And the best you can come up with is someone could argue for 2 guys. Not it’s clear and undeniable that these other 2 got better just people can argue it because if they did it’s minimal if anything.

Rivera is the ultimate hustle, do all the little things player. Anything he lacks he makes up for in hustle. He’s been fun to watch this year. I’m not sure he’s a much better player but his toughness and fight for everything attitude is great to see.

I would say I think he’s out of eligibility but do they enforce that?

just saying that ncaa isn't out of the question. especially technically. we're 4th in the big east. it's insanely hard to watch but record is what it is.
We dropped 2 spots in NET today. We desperately need to win at UConn or vs SJU

Win the next 3 even uglier than last night and we’re in no questions asked. Huge mountain to climb, but that’s why they play the games

I think we can be a Bubble Team with no guarantees if they get the possible 2 out of 3 against SJU and UConn. I believe the better chance is if SJU finishes first. Tough with no Myles Powell in sight.

You could be right. I still think we're on the outside looking in if we get 2 of the next 3. We haven't beaten an NCAA tournament quality team since November. A road win @UCONN would be huge but I believe Hurley has them ready at home within 2 weeks of losing vs Creighton.

I think being objective despite wins or losses, just level of play, our level of play is getting worse every game. We need a big turn around in 1 week.

Agreed. The play is falling off. Clark needs a breath of fresh air. He has hit the wall. I think UConn had their night off at home against Creighton. So, the Xavier game becomes important. Then SJU. If they get to the Finals of the Big East Tourn, that's their chance.

Too bad their coach didn’t get better. Anger management classes might help in the off season. 😰

Or they stayed the same.
One thing that has been consistent about this team has been its inconsistency...... never know what to expect one game to the next. Besides Hines performance, the other positive thing that we did vs GTown was offensive rebounds leading to a bunch of 2nd chance points... against DePaul the numbers were reversed.
