I thought he was #25 at Va Tech? Didn’t he lose a lot of recruiting battles this year at PS to Notre Dame where his old assistant coach who was a pretty good recruiter went? I remember that he started losing recruiting battles more this year. His PS class this year before he was fired had less than 50% blue chips which was a drop off. I thought the only reason he was ranked in the top 15 before being fired was based on class size, not class quality. Once other schools caught up in terms of number of recruits, he was going to drop in rank, but he didn’t make it to signing day. It seemed this year he was losing recruiting battles and taking plan b or c or d recruits more often.

Just read that Penn State president Neeli Bendapudi was present for the interview with Campbell…so maybe Kraft has indeed been neutered a bit.
Wow. If this is legit, Kraft sounds like he is in way over his head. I can’t believe he is talking to players like this. He really needs to go if this is a real recording. No wonder coaches don’t want to work in this guy’s athletic department.

When ESPN reports a school is targeting another coach isn't it pretty far down the road? I know not a done deal but they don't regularly report these things if there is a good probability of it being a non story of sorts and the coach just stays. It happened with Sitake, I know, but is it going to happen again?
He's not saying anything that the head coach isn't behind closed doors. Everyone is talking smack when the microphones and cameras are off. But I really don't like that this was leaked by the leadership council of the team (assuming that's who he's addressing).
I didn't like hearing what Kraft had to say. Anyone who has to use the F-bomb every other sentence means he can't command the respect he is trying to get. That being said, it is a totally dirty and cowardly trick to secretly record someone and then leak it. Whoever it is I hope he leaves the team when we do not hire Terry. We don't need people like that on the team. Sorry I don't want a bunch of players dictating who Penn State should hire. Respectfully give your opinion, but it's not their call. Terry's self promotion "it's my locker room" nonsense is bush league too.
I’m sure that kind of speech is not out of the ordinary for locker rooms around the country. The biggest issue is that it was not only recorded but publicly released. I imagine that if the players liked and respected Kraft then this would not have happened.

You should listen to it all. Kraft was spot on with nearly everything. The guy is very passionate and fearless! He wants PSU back to where we rightly belong. Back to prominence. Loved it!
Campbell is staying. Kraft should have been fired last week.
I tend to agree. Another coach, Matt Campbell, will be getting a substantial raise from his present employer. The book on how to get a raise has been perfected by Penn State

Bendapudi is now involved and heard late last night that Kraft no longer solely makes the decision on who gets an offer. I have to wonder if this will increase Terry's chances. I think everyone involved would prefer someone with HC experience, but we are running out of time and candidates.
