Crowd is completely nonexistent so far. I can tell you it took 1.5 hrs to get to the Arena, normally a 30 minute commute.

All side roads were blocked due to snow turning them into one way for for all

They will need to win with their own energy.

Awful! Couldn’t even bother to shovel out a path from the parking lot to the arena. Walking over mounds of snow to get into the game ain’t it.

You’d have thought the Arena and or the parking lot owner collecting $30’a head would have looked at that and fixed it. But it seems that they both take but don’t really give.
And who owns the arena? The city!

You can look at it as the shelves were understocked or those 100 people did a hell of a job.

Here's the first guy in the gym

Spent an hour to go 2 miles once we hit Newark. Nightmare but it was worth it to see that second half.
I hit a standstill at the end of the Palisades Parkway. Made a quick stop, was lucky to get out of a jammed shopping center parking lot and then got stuck at the 3/21 interchange and then again when 21 moves into Newark.

It basically took me two hours from the Palisades when it should be no more than 45-60 minutes.

Brutal.

I love how people are talking like they missed out on the deal of the century and $5 beer is a steal of a deal. Unless your wife doesn't allow you to have a beer at home $5 is still a rip off.

nice bigoted comment. At least you had the balls to just blurt it out unlike alot of the rest of this thread who danced around what they really want to say. Let's see if anyone does anything about it. Prolly not based on past history.
$5 beer talk is bigoted? Have a drink and relax tough guy

What’s bigoted about calling out a city that is notoriously poor in handling snow removal? Are the hideous traffic issues okay to you? Personally, it doesn’t affect me too much because I take the train to games. A couple of times, though, there have been delays and one time a train just didn’t even show up, causing me to arrive late for the Shavar Reynolds St. John’s game. Does being angry at NJ Transit have bigoted overtones? Sometimes calling out a bad job is warranted, just because it’s deserved.

I spent part of my childhood living in the Ironbound and have been in Newark consistently over the years. Snow removal has always been horrendous in Newark. Too many cars on the street leads to bad snow removal. I was in NYC on Tuesday and it’s seems NyC does a much better job. What’s the difference? Is it because NYC has those heaters to actually remove the snow? Does Newark have that? Because what does Newark do with the snow? It needs to remove it and not just pack in the cars

https://patch.com/new-jersey/newarknj/entrenched-corruption-how-newark-s-city-hall-fails-its-people

Newark’s history is littered with corruption and incompetence. Remember when the state had to take over the Board of Education? I would call it manipulative and an embedded culture of criminality. A different kind of IQ….Addonizio, Gibson, James…all arrested, convicted and served time. Baraka will likely be added to the list.

Thankfully there is a train to get to the game.
You can have a corrupt leadership in a city and still remove snow properly. The Ironbound section is the nicest and safest part of Newark. Yet, it may be the worst spot when it comes to snow removal.

Sure, but I said corruption AND incompetence. The BOE was an example of both.

what’s wrong with people? Stick to topics that pertain to basketball, the team and the game. The snow was a good topic as to how it impacted getting to the game. Don’t let 1 miserable internet loser who is probably looking to stir up hatred take everyone down with him. You guys are falling for the trap of some loser living in moms basement.

This is not an excuse but every major city in NJ has snow removal problems. The major streets are taken care of 1st but side streets are last. This is where the problem starts . Getting to and off the main streets . Also some of the main streets are county roads which adds to the problem. At least that's how I see it here in Paterson . Getting to Route 21 for me was a problem then once getting into Newark was my next problem because the side streets off 21 were backed up .Should be less of a problem Sat. I hope . GO PIRATES !!!!!

Poor snow removal leading to a late arriving crowd is one thing but we’re too far off track into politics here so I’m locking this thread. Parts of Philly still aren’t plowed out so it’s not just a Newark issue.
