Newest Nkemdiche Rumor: Explains "Other" Teams Emerging in Recruitment

Rumor has it that the Atlanta Journal Consitutional, Georgia High School Association, and possibly the NCAA are already digging into Nkemdiche's recruitment. The rumors of his dad, who's an unlicensed doctor in north Atlanta, getting a job at UMC in exchange for his commitment to Ole Miss have sparked interest from several parties. Also, he's been living with his coach, which normally is a violation of GHSA policy. Nkemdiche's coach decided to become his legal guardian though to bypass the rule. His coach is good friends with Dabo (Clemson) and is a Bama homer. It's still not clear why this had to be done since his dad lives in the area and isn't working as a licensed doctor after all. His mom is in Nigeria a lot, he doesn't live with his dad, his brother has been at Ole Miss for 2 years, and he hasn't lived with the Scheusslers since Nick moved out. His living situation has been less than stable to say the least.

At this point if he goes to Clemson, Bama, or Ole Miss there's going to be a lot of smoke surrounding his recruitment. Georgia and LSU almost seem like the only places he could go to avoid all of this now, which might be why they're quickly emerging as legitimate threats in his recruitment.

I told you all from the beginning that Ole Miss wouldn't get this guy, and it's becoming a longer and longer shot for them by the day.

Very interesting. Pretty sad that UM has compromised its academic standing at its supposedly prestegious medical school to hire an unlicensed doctor.

The Ole Miss Rebels have been playing with fire on this kid from the start. What a very unusual situation

Wouldn't that be funny. I hope he reconnects with Clemson. Someone we probably won't face during his playing days.

Are there any facts out there?

All I've heard is that he's been hired in some sort of medicine-related capacity. The unlicensed part may not be an issue at all if he's doing research or something not directly related to patient care.

Seeing smoke all around the interwebs on this one...

Guess that explains why "2 weeks" came and went...

Somebody explain to me...

how an unlicensed doctor in north Atlanta agreed to a bribe scheme (ie, getting a job at UMC in exchange for his son's commitment to Ole Miss). First, the bribe scheme is bad enough. But bribing an unlicensed doctor to be a doctor in exchange for his son's commitment? I understand the bribery scenario. That is just Ole Miss being Ole Miss. But somebody explain how an unlicensed doctor is freely moving about our hospitals without somebody turning him in to the medical board.

his (RN) HS coach is Mickey Conn... he was a player at Bama... I think he was a reserve DB in the early 90s and was on the 92 NC team... roomed with Dabo, i read somewhere... but my memory is fuzzy on when/what he did....

Wait just a damn minute.......We're going to need rock17erfromMars to confirm this via his cousin who plays with nkemichdong. I bet all of these bogus rumors are the equivalent to people denying Nkemichiden was taking on 4 blockers every play this season. ***

look at it this way ... the Rebels are doing their part to help alleviate the unemployment numbers (if at least only during recruiting times )

He may be unlicensed, but that doesn't mean he was practicing. I hope that kind of thing can't happen.

Anybody find it strange that he seems to live with everyone except his Father?

If it was just about getting eligible at a school- his father could just establish a residence in the district a helluva lot easier than the Coach having to adopt the kid...the whole situation is bizarre

That's because he is a 17ing nomad.

It's been said the kid is a head case.

The word "brother" means something different to the people from Grayson. Nick Schuessler was "brothers" with Robert Nkemdiche. Nick signed a scholarship with State, RK tweets he's just helped his "brother" move in at State, weeks later, the Grayson Five committed to Clemson. Poof, Nick WALKS AWAY FROM A SCHOLARSHIP AT AN SEC SCHOOL to walk on at Clemson to be with his "brother". Apparently Robert was Nick's "brother" only while living under the same roof as Nick. Robert moves in with his "brother", excuse me, "coach" so he can stay eligible at the same high school with his "brothers". Now Nick's "brother" has decommitted from Clemson, supposedly to go play ball with his "brother" Denzel.

I don't know what's weirder here, the fact that Robert has lived in at least two different households in the last two years, or the fact that neither of those has been with his own father.

And there is more...

From an interview with ESPN yesterday afternoon:

"I spent time with Coach Brick (Haley), and we went out to eat,"
Nkemdiche said. "He also came to watch me practice basketball. He tells
me to go where my heart goes, and he feels he has the tools to help me
get to the next level. Honestly, I like LSU a lot. He says that he could
help me develop the tools to get to the NFL. He says if I come in there
and work, I will be perfectly fine and play as a freshman. I plan to
give them an official visit."

Last Thursday, the Bama guys were warning their folks to keep an eye on LUS. Dude would be a load in that 4-3.

If he does sign with LSU, the amount of talent they have put on that D line in the last couple of years is insane.

I think that if I played D line LSU would be my first choice.
