OK, when they held the FG competition, was Stout alternating punting and FG's like in a real game situation, or just focusing on FG's during the competition?
Given franklins history he would probably offer to let Sparty just have the ball if he could.

We simply cannot win close games. Coaching, execution, lack of attention to details. Really have the opposite of a clutch team. The program has reached a low point under Franklin.

Hard to attribute 2020 as it was an anomaly AND the team improved.
This season...tough schedule, but didn't see much in the way of improvement.
Losses by 2, 3, 3, 4, and 9 this year .. So frustrating…year after year.

But aside from two longer Lee runs and some shorter ones, the yards were coming from the passing game. Why they abandoned it in the late going is beyond me. I hope Yurcich shows more next year and Trautlein actually produces an offensive line that can push people around. Because this year’s edition was pretty putrid. If Franklin weren’t a good recruiter and a creator of a family atmosphere and get your degree, I’d bid him farewell in a heartbeat. I’m sorry but this game was a compilation of all the griping that everyone has been doing all year.

Franklin really does need to develop depth at QB, with the portal attrition is a likely constant.
If the second half debacle at Iowa didn't reinforce that, then the staff is hopeless.
I actually never see him direct players and coachs, only after TDs does he run around like an idiot holding "one" in the air.

Done with excuses... the snow, the Wind, not enough hugs all week...... Poor execution, poor play calling, missed tackles, giving up third/fourth and longs, not taking advantage of their poor secondary all game lost this game and quite frankly this has been the freaking theme now for x number of years......

I had 24-23 MSU and the only one to pick them to win. Depressing but predictable.
MSU could not cover a lick in the secondary …..sooooo…..we run numerous plays. Makes sense to me….NOT.
Nice guy, great recruiter, terrific father… but a horrible game day coach. There is absolutely no argument otherwise. Nothing has changed in 6+ years
