Wide open in the middle on 3rd and 8. Right where the blitzer came from. It doesn’t get easier than that.

LOL.... All they need do is run right up the center / guard gaps. PSU cannot defend it.

And that “short-intermediate” passing game is what has been missing from AK’s offense, as I’ve been saying. Slants, seam pops, etc.
AK relies on too many behind the LoS, and then downfield routes that take too long and aren’t well drawn up, regardless.
You soften up the defense across the middle of the field with the passing game and you free up your running game, and you occasionally break one.
If they do throw shorter beyond the LoS, it’s usually to a stationary target or to the outside. Let them catch it in motion and see what happens.

Inability to stop both run game and pass late in the game is stunning. Was Knowles a sabotage job?
