During presser following their big win over Iowa: "That's the toughest weight in the country by far. It's the deepest I've seen any weight ever in my coaching career."

Thoughts from those who have been following the sport for longer than me? I know it's been talked about a lot on this board, but that's a heckuva statement. There certainly are 4-5 studs (national champion caliber kids), and another 5 or 6 excellent wresters (Lizak at 8 is a former finalist, Roman Bravo Young at 11 is phenomenal). And that's without Gross, the defending champ. What a weight.

Not sure that I buy that. I just briefly looked over some of my spreadsheets of rankings over the past ten years only and there are certainly weight classes as stacked, if not more, throughout over just those few years.

And I do not think there is even a close 2nd place. That bracket had 8 champions and 11 finalists in it. Just look at the Quarterfinalists-Metcalf, Lance Palmer, Josh Churella, Jordan Burroughs, JP Oconner, Bubba Jenkins, Darrion Caldwell, Dustin Schlatter.

Agree 100%. Just an insane division.
