The turnover of tickets to OSU is indicative of the RU culture and also why alumni giving at RU is so pathetic. Fixable? Hope so.

Hate to say this, but if you sold your ticket for a huge profit, you are feeling pretty good right about now.

Huh? You are a season ticket holder and you sold your tickets, didn't watch the No.1 team in the country in your home stadium. Your team got humiliated and you made a couple hundred on tickets? And your feeling good about it?

I would never as a Long time Rutgers fan ever understand this.

...12:27 NEC to NYC is packed with them. They were literally just doing the OH – IO chant on the platform.

They sure as hell traveled well I was surrounded by them in sec 222. Not total douches, but somewhat.

The 'shoot the cannon' chant got my blood boiling. I was hoping out Minutemen had affixed bayonetes and advanced toward the crowd.

It was down right embarrassing for those of us who went. Never seen the stadium taken over by an opposing team before and it sucked. It just wasn't any fun as I was surrounded by OSU fans. If this is how the fans are going to be for the rest of the year I might just sell mine as well. I wish I never went, it was that disappointing.

I sat in 209. More OSU fans than RU fans. OSU fans were fine, as the outcome was never in doubt. Their program is on another level. And they enjoyed themselves. My gripe is solely with the RU fanbase. Again, pathetic, that so many would "cash out" and take the $ vs. supporting their team by getting their azzes in those seats.

It seems like our fans by nature are somehow pessimists.

After a touchdown, they stop getting as loud . After two touchdowns, they start going "here we go again. It's going to get away from us."

I mean, come on. I don't need to hear that. Be a good fan and support and pick the team back up. smh.

The OSU fans behind me in Sec 105 paid $400 per ticket x 4. In 30 years I haven't seen that section completely taken over by visiting fans like tonight. Had to have been 80% OSU. At least they were nice folks. All of the OSU fans I met were really nice.

OSU travels as well as any fan base, better than most, but they also have a huge alumni base all over the country, including NJ. Some of the fans at the game travelled from Ohio, but many others didn't have to travel very far to get there. There was quite a bit of talk and excitement from OSU fans on the fan boards the past couple of weeks about the team coming to NJ, and the alumni and fans living in that area looking forward to going to see them play live.

Said it in another thread. It is a learning experience for our fan base. A process that needs to be gone through. Our fan base has as much to learn as our program does to compete at this level.

It's a B1G jump from the Syracuse and Uconn's of our former world.

This is the show.

Meh...sometimes being a "true fan" means staying home and not paying for slop. RU needs empty seats or fans will keep getting Patriot League coaching and recruits.

Really??? So a program that is trying to build itself needs "true fans" to sit it out to prove some lame point. Re-think your "true fan" status. You couldn't keep me away from a RU game if Mickey Mouse was coaching.

Rutgers need more loyal fans, more money, more support. Not "fans" who sit it out when things get a little bumpy.

Well in our first nationally televised game we failed miserably. RU fan turnout just plain out sucked. It was very disappointing and not any fun. Seriously considering selling my tickets if this is how it's going to be and I've never considered this before. It just wasn't any fun having your stadium taken over by opposing fans. And if that's how it's going to be then I'd rather not go and I love RU football. Being surrounded by OSU fans sucked.

we suck cause everything about us sucks...our admin sucks.. our fans suck... our coach sucks. Get used to the pain cause it wont get better anytime soon... We have nancys that think everything is ok... And we have stupid liberals that don't invest in the program.

Just quit now else you will experience pain for a long time.

Go ahead and call me out but you idiots wont' understand that something needs to change fast or we might as well close shop and call it now.

I dont know how we joined the big 10 with this pathetic admin and the investment they put in.

Ohio state did not take over the stadium...but they we're there step better than penn state and MIchigan. Likely 10k ...not more

But they were loud

And freaking shame on the rutgers fans in section 105 who were 20 years season ticket holder next to me who sold their sears for a couple of dollars. If you can afford the donation for section 105 you don't need to sell your seats to cover the cost. Period. The lack of loyality from some of our best is sad and that level of commitment is needed if we are going to do anything

Btw...no sour grapes with the actual ohio state fans. Friendly and engaging and did not but root for the team hard

My Dad drives 7+ hours to go to each one of these games. He grew up minutes from Rutgers Stadium. He deserves f*cking better than this. All of you, each one of you, deserve better than this. Every person on this board cares, deeply, about this football program, including the Flood haters. Trust me, they care.

I did not grow up minutes from Rutgers Stadium, I grew up in VA Tech country, but am a diehard Rutgers fan. Until a coaching change is made, we will continue to wallow in this hell. Time and time and time again the stupidity, stubbornness, and arrogance of Kyle Flood has shown itself. I say this not as a football fan, but as an adult male.

Not playing Rettig, the RB "rotation," Nova's leash, throwing on 3rd and 2 today after the run game was working that possession, punting on 4th and two on their 40 against the #1 team in the nation. The examples of his stupidity and his stubbornness are endless at this point. How many times in the last 4 years have you not heard the announcers question our play calling? It's a lot. How the hell do you play conservative and not throw everything you've got at Ohio State? You have nothing to lose for christ sake. But we don't. We play conservative. Always.

I was an avid defender of Flood a year ago. I did not want negative posts on this board to influence recruits, because I very much believe they do. But this program must move on from him. We must break off from this terrible place we're in. It isn't fair to anyone that supports this program. With their money might I add. We have an emotionless coach, as stiff as a board, there is nothing, not even body language, to signal that this guy "gets it," and has some balls. My Dad is never going to quit on this program. But I'm only about 11-12 years a fan. And I am starting to not watch games at this point. I am starting to check out. And that, should be alarming, to everyone. Wake up. Change is needed.

To you RU fans who attend every RU home game: you know who your seat neighbors are, right? Those folks who were missing and chose to sell their tickets to OSU fans should be somehow reminded when you see them at the next game. I'm not suggesting anything aggressive, but just let them know that you know. Maybe just "thank them" for their loyalty to the program, for their loyalty to the kids who played that night, for their loyalty to Rutgers.

That sanctimonious approach would make me want to sell more not less. It's called capitalism. Can you blame someone who's getting soaked for tickets, donations, 30 bucks to park, concessions, etc,etc to take an occasional opportunity like this ( a sure blowout) to get some of his money back ? We weren't going to compete with OSU, let alone win. I'm not condoning it but I'd be a hypocrite if I lashed out against those selling their tickets since I did the same in 2007 (WV game). RU neeeds all the fans it can get even those that may do things you don't like such as show up late or occasionally sell their tickets on stubhub

Those are not the fans RU needs. RU does need loyal fans.

So, how much did you get for your tickets, Moose?

I have 6 tickets and made the mistake to sell 2 to an OSU alum who was a neighbor. After sitting there last night I will never sell tickets again to a visiting fan. Like some posted - it's a learning process.

Just what this program needs. Season ticket holders calling out other season ticket holders. I'm sure that will grow the fan base [eyeroll]

Sold mine on Stubhub the day of the arrests and have no qualms about it. I was able to recover about 30% of my total tickets, parking pass and donation cost for the season. Would not have been enjoyable to me to drive down and watch a blowout that it was basically guaranteed to be after we lost the secondary. Was a gamble on my part but very happy with my decision (not game result) today.

Too bad on Rutgers install a crappy cheap coach and play to lose this is what happens. if I was Juile I would be reading up on the NY Mets who finally got the message that you have to spend some money and take your shot when you can. Pay now for the "name" coach that can get the right kids to come to Rutgers. That will solve every other problem this program has.

I see there are a lot of fans that are out of state criticizing fans that didn't show up. These out of state fans need to shut up. Fans that go to the games invest more into the program even if they sell a game or two.

Wow, talk about exaggeration. They were at most 8000 OSU fans there and most of theose were from their alotment or single game tickets. Unfortunately, it sounded like more OSU fans as the game wore on and most people realized that an upset was unlikely. In the first quarter when we were playing decent, it was mostly R fans that you heard. After the third OSU TD, their fans got louder and R fans got really quiet. If the game didn't get out of control in the second quarter, it would have been much different environment. In section 104/105 there were a sprinkling of OSU fans, but by no means "took over" our stadium. Trust me, if we were 6-0 and not 3-3 team, it would have been much different. Maybe not the outcome, but the environment would have.

I think Virtual above got it right, at least from my perspective in the upper deck closer to the students. OSU had a great turnout and as the game wore on you could hear more of them, but in the first half it was still way more loud for RU. Our FG botch and their third TD off the lucky catch meant the second half would not be good. The game didn't have the electricity of PSU, maybe because the feeling we would not be able to keep it close.

Fans settling for "Mickey Mouse" coaching means that's what they'll get. "A little bumpy" is a euphemism for the plight of RU ball. Louisville 06 isn't in the rearview mirror its gone from all view. RU is headed back to the 90s BE and getting ragdolled by good teams. Just see what happens by Feb recruit wise. Of course RU ball will be a lot more expensive than the 90s so good luck with that. RU can barely sell more than one game ticket for face on secondary market. 4 games were less then half. Army is in better shape

Probably didn't account for too many extra people but fake tickets were sold to OSU fans. They showed up at our section with duplicates. When you looked that tickets closely it was obvious that they were fake but the bar codes worked.
