Wow. Seemed like a third of the stadium was OSU fans. Congrats to all those profiteers.
Hate to say this, but if you sold your ticket for a huge profit, you are feeling pretty good right about now.
Meh...sometimes being a "true fan" means staying home and not paying for slop. RU needs empty seats or fans will keep getting Patriot League coaching and recruits.
Well in our first nationally televised game we failed miserably. RU fan turnout just plain out sucked. It was very disappointing and not any fun. Seriously considering selling my tickets if this is how it's going to be and I've never considered this before. It just wasn't any fun having your stadium taken over by opposing fans. And if that's how it's going to be then I'd rather not go and I love RU football. Being surrounded by OSU fans sucked.Said it in another thread. It is a learning experience for our fan base. A process that needs to be gone through. Our fan base has as much to learn as our program does to compete at this level.
It's a B1G jump from the Syracuse and Uconn's of our former world.
This is the show.
The OSU fans behind me in Sec 105 paid $400 per ticket x 4. In 30 years I haven't seen that section completely taken over by visiting fans like tonight. Had to have been 80% OSU. At least they were nice folks. All of the OSU fans I met were really nice.
Really??? So a program that is trying to build itself needs "true fans" to sit it out to prove some lame point. Re-think your "true fan" status. You couldn't keep me away from a RU game if Mickey Mouse was coaching.
Rutgers need more loyal fans, more money, more support. Not "fans" who sit it out when things get a little bumpy.
It was down right embarrassing for those of us who went. Never seen the stadium taken over by an opposing team before and it sucked. It just wasn't any fun as I was surrounded by OSU fans. If this is how the fans are going to be for the rest of the year I might just sell mine as well. I wish I never went, it was that disappointing.
Huh? You are a season ticket holder and you sold your tickets, didn't watch the No.1 team in the country in your home stadium. Your team got humiliated and you made a couple hundred on tickets? And your feeling good about it?
I would never as a Long time Rutgers fan ever understand this.
To you RU fans who attend every RU home game: you know who your seat neighbors are, right? Those folks who were missing and chose to sell their tickets to OSU fans should be somehow reminded when you see them at the next game. I'm not suggesting anything aggressive, but just let them know that you know. Maybe just "thank them" for their loyalty to the program, for their loyalty to the kids who played that night, for their loyalty to Rutgers.

That sanctimonious approach would make me want to sell more not less. It's called capitalism. Can you blame someone who's getting soaked for tickets, donations, 30 bucks to park, concessions, etc,etc to take an occasional opportunity like this ( a sure blowout) to get some of his money back ? We weren't going to compete with OSU, let alone win. I'm not condoning it but I'd be a hypocrite if I lashed out against those selling their tickets since I did the same in 2007 (WV game). RU neeeds all the fans it can get even those that may do things you don't like such as show up late or occasionally sell their tickets on stubhub
Just what this program needs. Season ticket holders calling out other season ticket holders. I'm sure that will grow the fan base [eyeroll]To you RU fans who attend every RU home game: you know who your seat neighbors are, right? Those are not the fans RU needs. RU does need loyal fans.
So, how much did you get for your tickets, Moose?
