Do you think he's injured/worn down this season, or the other teams are starting to figure him out?
He has stretches in most games where he plays great, but there are also stretches where he seems to lack concentration.

I hope his wife isn’t making him handle the 2AM feeding for the baby they had in August.

I like the Isles upcoming schedule more then the Pens so that should be interesting. Man I'd love to get all 3 into the playoffs.

I think NYR play the Pens like 3 or 4 times down the stretch. Winning those would definitely help their old rival.

A home and home, and total of 3 times in 4 games. Very odd.

At least the travel isn't crazy, but seriously, you've got 6 months to spread the games out. LOL.

Fox really suffering without his partner.
Need that man back pronto
I constantly see fans on the internet mention the idea of trading Lindgren in the next year or two as something to help with the Rangers’ cap issues.

It’s crazy. On his own Lindgren is the Rangers’ most underrated player, not to mention that the Norris winner they gave $9 million to needs him as a partner.

I would trade Trouba once his NMC allows it.
Like him, but too much money for him to try, UNSUCCESSFULLY, to play the puck like he's Adam Fox.

Lindgren is a keeper.

Lindgren is a vastly underrated skater.
He keeps his feet moving

Depending on how the cap moves in the next couple of years, the fact that Trouba’s and Kreider’s contract NMCs turn to modified NTCs after next season is definitely going to become relevant.

Hope your right but Im just not as confident. They are both average teams and the next one of them that goes on a mini win streak likely takes the spot.
Being a Devils fan, I don’t like either team but one is very structured, big and has great goaltending

The other is soft, medicine goaltending and plays loose in their own end

Fingers crossed. As an isles fan I enjoy going to a devils game from time to time. I have no dislike for them at all and wish to see them play well each year. I can't say that I feel that way for the Rangers but if they are a shoe in for the playoffs then hockey, especially in this area is more fun with them in it. As you get older you realize how infrequent these great rivalries play out in the playoffs and any combo of the local teams battling in a best of seven series is awesome imo.

I’d fire Gallante immediately.
What a disgrace this team is.
Most boring team in hockey

I probably wouldn’t go that far, but when you factor in the talent we have, I agree we’re probably the most inappropriately utilized team in hockey.

Outside of Igor who saved this game, the Rangers didn’t have one player who played well.
Kreider and Kakko are completely non factor invisible

Nice win tonight for the Devils. Dawson Mercer now has a team record 12 game points streak for players 21 and younger. Akira Schmid played well, he had no chance on the one that beat him.

Huge game tomorrow, let's make it a 4 point weekend.

I came on here just to post about this game (watched on DVR delay). This was an embarrassment of a game, and listening to him speak positively about it afterwards is just pathetic.

The defensive play and coverage is abysmal, they have no transition game, and looked like the pre-lockout teams with their inability to beat neutral zone congestion with D men holding the blue line.

I told a coworker that I'm not a betting man but would wager anything against this team in the first round. They have zero chance playing like this.

Amen-
Their entire breakout philosophy is a joke.
They have no forecheck concept and the time, speed and space they allow through the neutral zone is astonishing.
I mean they watch the same DVR you just watched, to me it would be like holy ****, what are we trying to do.
We have world class talent, Imagine Miller on the Bruins or Carolina

Another game Hughes doesn’t score

Mercer and Nico the two best forwards on the team for a month.
Someone please explain to me how Severson still plays in the NHL let alone on the Devils. I’m not sure there is a single thing he does well and almost single-handedly cost the Devils last nights game. He’s a turnover machine.

Hughes is probably still bothered by injury, his "more quiet" play started when he came back. He must stay healthy moving forward.

Very important game tonight for Vanecek, and the Devils.

No team can afford 6 top pair defenseman, so on occasion you get a Severson, or pick turnover d-man from any other NHL team.

Severson has actually been very solid this year, his problem is every once in a while he will make a bonehead play that will make you want to throw objects at your TV.

If he’s still injured he should sit out
Playing through injuries is part of hockey, if everyone who was injured didn't play, there were probably be hardly everyone out there lol.

I remember Nico about a month ago was playing some of his worse hockey, I'm pretty sure he was playing through an injury as well.

A lot of athletes tough it out, but yes take a few games here. He was hot, well over a point a game, injury and now safely under a point a game since.
Shame because he was cruising for a 100 pt season. He can still get there if he gets hot again.

Nico last year as well. Hamilton last year. Wood this year.

Maybe sometimes it's overdone, but there is value to working through injuries.

And I'm not seeing anything from Hughes which suggests he needs to sit.

He's a good mid pairing d-man. Suggesting he shouldn't be in the NHL is ridiculous.

I'm sure his presence helps take the heat off the other lines as well.
