How bout the kid line scoring last night 5 on 5 when they stayed on the ice after the power play ended!
It’s to bad we have to break that line up but there’s nothing anyone can do, Laff has really developed and Kakko can control the puck….they deserve top 6 minutes.

Unfortunately something came up yesterday and I only caught the highlights.
It would be fun to keep the kid line together, but they need to get more responsibility/ TOI. I don’t think any of them are going to g t on PP1 with th how good of a fit Trocheck is there. Also, if you don’t play Laf and Kakko in the top 6 you are playing guys like Hunt there.
Whenever everyone is fully healthy the 3rd line should be Blais -Chytil- Kravstov
Cue the theme from "Dawson's Creek" Dawson Mercer nets his 1st goal this year, as the NEW Jersey Devils win their 1st game of the year.
Means the Devils are killing it even strength and their goaltending is in turn killing them.
To be fair, SOME of the Devils woes come from d-zone coverage (Rangers have a similar problem). I say this because the "high danger" chances are not on the goalie. IMO, Devils' fans are super critical of goaltending because Mr. Brodeur set the bar pretty damned high. LOL.
Now, I agree, they probably need improvement over Blackwood. The keeper COACH should be long gone.
But, offensively, at 5 on 5, the Devils are definitely solid.

I love these jerseys. The color scheme is awesome, and ridiculously retro. Too bad COL also went with the Scouts/Rockies thing. They should have just stuck with the Nordique - those always looked cool.

For the locals, NJD by far looks the best. NYI and NYR are kinda meh. PHI missed a golden (or burnt orange) opportunity to use the old Quaker jerseys. It’s the same friggen color palette! Just change the script to Flyers. Would have been my winner.

The Devils retro jersey makes no sense to me. Can someone explain the design? I actually think “Jersey” written across the jersey was a complete lack of creativity.I love these jerseys. My nephew has a hat in Devs colors that has "HAT" in script to match his "JERSEY"
. I laughed my *** offWith all the satanic marketing tricks they could have pulled off with this jersey…if nothing else to stir up NJD interest…they do the opposite and write “Jersey”. Heck, I would have even taken a jersey with a vegetable theme all over it as a quasi-joke for the Garden State. Amazes me that the jersey ever made it to production and was approved by the Devs org.
All this stuff is a matter of taste (and sometimes age), so I get why people would have have different feelings on all these retros. But, it’s pretty clear what the org was doing here. Unless you think the original devil team passed through a membrane from another reality, not sure what to tell you.
On the alt “Jersey” jersey, I kinda agree with you.
I have seen sweater mock-ups by fans of the NJ state outline with horns. And with more color than just black and white

It’s a stupid concept, but I still get a good laugh out of it as a Devils fan. The added benefit of finally having a black jersey makes it palatable.
In their defense, that, and other looks like Nordique, were done a few years ago. But those again with a few subtle changes and different colors would have been better than these.
Whalers is still one of the best of all time due to the negative space. Took me forever back in the day to discover the “H” sitting in plain sight.

Would be nice to see the goalies bail out their teammates turnovers more often but the lack of burying scoring chances is the main issue
