He’s not coming to NJ. Woulda happened by nowCould also be a leak by the Devils to force Sharks into urgency. Who knows?
Devils are certainly not out of the Meier sweepstakes. That’s for sure.

Blues offered 2 first round picks plusDevils still the favorites, along with Carolina.
San Jose is in no rush to trade him. Never has been and was always going to be more of a deadline deal
Blues offered 2 first round picks plus
The former Islander Nino ( sp. ) Neidereiter.Nino?
It makes sense given the Blues can’t go into.a long rebuild with the long term contracts they have signed on defense plus their best forwards (Kyrou and Thomas) beginning their prime.Unlikely he’ll sign there. No reason for Blues to do this.
Don’t think they’re a serious threat
It could be. My hunch is that it is an owner more concerned with getting the back page.Could also be a leak by the Devils to force Sharks into urgency. Who knows?

Barbashev and Leivo package to NJ?
Interested Devils fans?

Getting Meier for two firsts plus would mean they turned two old, expiring contract forwards (ROR and Tarasenko) into one forward who is much younger and better fits the rest of the team.
It would be pretty brilliant.
He’s on the block? The former Islander Nino ( sp. ) Neidereiter.

While the Devils are still in on Meier, I do not think they ultimately get him. We had a small window right after Horvat went to Lou and the NYR got Tarashenko, but nothing got done. Unless Grier overplays his hand, and doesn't have it done with a couple of hours to go, I now don't see Timo in NJ, sadly.
As I replied back to Krup, today is the first time in hearing this. So he seems to be with Eliot Friedman floating the story. He’s on the block?
We could have just signed him last summerAs I replied back to Krup, today is the first time in hearing this. So he seems to be with Eliot Friedman floating the story.
If it happens, he should cost a lot less than Timo.

Exactly, the leaker leaked that the Devils want the last crack at Timo before he is traded. So unless Mike Grier balks, we should have it. I'm more pessimistic about this because I think the price goes up from here. If Grier was close to accepting our offer, I think it would have been done. Oh well, I hope I'm wrong.Again, zero reason to rush. Devils are in a better position than both the Islanders and Rangers. No reason why their moves should have effected what we do immediately.
Who knows if the Devils get Meier or not, but claiming Devils are out of the running like prior poster claimed is inaccurate and silly
I believe the Devils tried to and were interested , if I recall correctly
I don’t know if Meier would sign there, but I don’t see STL as an actual rebuild and I don’t think their management does either. But why would Meier sign there? Blues are obvious in a rebuild phase (though further along I’d argue)
Don’t see Meier wanting to go to another r building team and see him wanting a chance to win now.
Well when plan A looks like a no go, you have to adjust. I think they liked him before, and should be able to get him for assets they don't mind losing. We could have just signed him last summer
Bad asset management by TFWell when plan A looks like a no go, you have to adjust. I think they liked him before, and should be able to get him for assets they don't mind losing.
Bad asset management by TF
Giving up players now when he could have already signed him
We went with Palat, that's why we didn't sign Nino.Going from 5th worst team in the league to 3rd best so far in a year isn’t bad asset management. C’mon dude.
You do realize GMs can’t just sign whoever they want, right?
Well that is the game of chance. If he gets Nino for a lot less than what Timo would cost, it might work out.Bad asset management by TF

Come on man it would be a much bigger gaffe to get in a bidding war, and end up losing assets we don't want to part with. You just made a micro gaffe a macro view.
Was talking about not signing Nino and then giving up assets for him a few months laterCome on man it would be a much bigger gaffe to get in a bidding war, and end up losing assets we don't want to part with.
For starters Dawson can't be on the table.
Look at some old Lou moves, this happens all the time.
Yes I got that, it happens for a variety of reasons. Was talking about not signing Nino and then giving up assets for him a few months later
Jesse? I wouldn’t even claim him off waivers. He’s garbageYes I got that, it happens for a variety of reasons.
I just checked on this, apparently IMO Grier is showing his inexperience. After reports to the contrary, he will NOT let other teams talk extension with Timo. So he wants a kings ransom for a potential rental. Oh and the only asset he keeps bring up is Dawson Mercer. I hope Fitz hangs up on him Every Time.
So it looks like we will pivot. Like clockwork there is a report in Canada ( TSN) that says the NJD should look at Josh Anderson. Also apparently Edmonton has been scouting the Devils lately. From what I read, looking at Wood and Graves. Jesse Pullvarji (sp.) and Kulak are mentioned as part of the return.
LOL, he is a cheap player who has unlocked potential still. He is grittier/tougher than Wood, plus about 3 million cheaper. I wouldn't mind him personally as a bottom 6 winger. Hope for lightening in a bottle.Jesse? I wouldn’t even claim him off waivers. He’s garbage

Meh, I wouldn't touch him either. He does have great potential but if you can only produce 13 pts in 55 games while playing with an offensive juggernaut like the Oilers, something ain't right.LOL, he is a cheap player who has unlocked potential still. He reminds me of this prospect we drafted in the 4th round of 2019 draft, size, talent, got it all, but just can't put to together. He’s a loser
Slow and He’d never score a big goal
He was a high pick. I look at it something for Wood, that might work out. Look at the Canes and Stephan Noesen. They may have found their Randy McKay, if this year is not a fluke.Edm fans absolutely hate him. They’d drive him to the airport
Yes he is meh, but so is Wood IMO. I look at the lottery ticket the Canes got with former Devil Stephan Noesen. Maybe, just maybe, even though it is not likely.Meh, I wouldn't touch him either. He does have great potential but if you can only produce 13 pts in 55 games while playing with an offensive juggernaut like the Oilers, something ain't right.
Larry Brooks from the NY Post reporting thar the Rangers will "try" to make a Kane deal work.
Curious to see how this might end. Thinking either brilliant or catastrophic; nothing in between. LOL.
Kane has been one of my favorite players since he entered the league. I cannot imagine any scenario, including ones that aren't really likely, where I'd be happy with him coming to NY.Larry Brooks from the NY Post reporting thar the Rangers will "try" to make a Kane deal work.
