It could be anything that forced him to resign, but in today's environment he probably yelled too loud at a player and mommy went to the BOE and complained. I get that coaches got away with a lot of crap years ago, but the pendulum has swung way too much in the other direction.
So true. Coaching in the right district is so important. Need a community that is not only okay with accountability of kids but also embraces it.

Rumor has it that the head coach at Scotch Plains got into a fist fight with an assistant coach. Also this was not the first time he got into an altercation with an assistant coach but this one turned violent.

Something huge must’ve happened one way or another that he had to leave now. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Heard from a Union County AD.
  1. He fought with his assistants during the week and multiple walked out on him. Forcing him to coach the JV game
  2. At the JV game he berated a trainer over not having enough water.
  3. Scotch plains was playing Elizabeth in soccer on adjacent field (he teaches at Elizabeth) parents from both schools witnessed his antics and reported to both schools.
  4. He was immediately removed from duties from Scotch Plains (he did not resign) and when he showed up to work on Monday was put on suspension from Elizabeth because of parents complaints.

I promised my bro (North Jersey public HS coach) not to say who or what school but a highly recruited ‘25 player that’s committed elsewhere , told his coach yesterday that he is considering flipping to RU.

Only reason I posted this is the 3-0 start is gaining some attention
There's only one 2025 NJ Top 25 recruit who's committed anywhere, and that's Omari Gaines to PSU. It would be pretty cool if he wanted to flip, his father is a big Schiano/RU supporter.

Some good public games this weekend

1) West Essex vs Caldwell. West Essex has a good defense but offense is abysmal with that wing t. Holding the entire program back. Caldwells closest game last year at 16-13

2) Hanover Park vs Mountain Lakes. Lakes won 14-7 last year but I think this will be a good one

3) Woodbury vs Haddonfield. Probably the SJ game of the week

4) mt olive vs west orange. Has a chance to be a sneaky good game

5) bergen/bosco, nuff said

6) delbarton clifton

7) roxbury vs warren hills. Cant wait to watch this one, i think itll be very good

8) wayne hills vs wayne valley. Huge rivalry

Anybody watching Miami Central vs Chaminade- Madonna on ESPN 2? incredible 4 and 5 star talent on display. Lots of offense. Chaminade leads 31-28 almost halfway thru the 3rd quarter.

Edit- Defense prevailed in second half and CM held on to win 31-28. Central missed a short FG which would have tied the game.

@kyk1827 Is this the jerkwad announcer you was talking about that gives you the laughs? He’s the reason the mute button was invented.

Yes haha. You gotta listen to the cedar grove/shabazz one haha. Hes literally subtly talking **** to the CG coaches who are next to him while he calls the game haha.

Kid on CG has a good run but doesnt score and he goes to the coaches “yeah he not d1” hahaha. I was dying laughing.

I think we would’ve fought if he was at that West Side game couple years ago. He’s annoying in his broadcasts, on FB, Twitter, etc. He makes Gus Johnson sound like Vin Scully.

They had some WFAN Gio wannabe next to us on the roof of schools stadium, pissed off that I didn’t give him my roster. MFer, that’s not my job to give you my personal stuff that you can get. Not my fault you left your copies at the wrong stadium lol. And he was horrible. He must’ve thought he was the man when he studying communications at Willie P.

And that company have a habit of key plays by other teams of not being shown on tv because of “technical difficulties.” They didn’t show our RB score on a 68 yard TD in that West Side game because they “went to the wrong stadium.” They didn’t show Dickinson girls (relative on team) score their TD in OT vs Shabazz because of “technical difficulties.”

Caldwell wins 14-0 imo.

If west essex had caldwells coaching staff and caldwell had west essex, west essex would win by 40. Same can be said for last year. West essex dc is very good, hc/oc (same guy) is holding that program back. They had 2 d1 wr’s last year and still refused to throw. Prior year same thing, 2 d1 receivers and refused to throw. Instead they opt to run belly 20X a game to 5’6 meatball fullbacks from fairfield haha

My friend who is also a Wessex graduate does the game films for the team. He also wishes they ran a more modern offense although he likes the coach.

I dont dislike the coach, just dislike that they run the wing t and wont transition to a 21st century offense

Nothing wrong with the Wing t.

Not everyone can run 4 Wide all the time
West Essex should be living in 11 personnel sniffer sets with the guys they have. West Essex is more talented than their competition 80+% of the time but allows inferior opponents to stay close due to the offense they run. Their OL averaged 250lbs across the board last year, their TE was 265 and the OL won the strong man competition put on by SFC. And the kids HATE playing in it. The top kids go off to the parochials to avoid playing in it (Kyle Monangai and Pat Caughey to just name a couple p5 players)

They dont really have any variations or eye candy to disguise any of it either. It is straight belly, trap, buck sweep, waggle well over 90% of every play and they dont have any way of checking at the line or hand signaling a check regardless of what the defense comes out in. Im not kidding, they could be running 24 belly and the defense could line up all 11 defenders there and theyd just say oh well and still run it

Toms River North back on track, sort of, with 21-7 win over Middletown South. All 4 of the games tds scored going with the strong wind. No Micah Ford, but hopeful for return this season.

Only 128 yards of total offense and thats not including lost yardage from sacks.

Offense is abysmal. Only scored because kick return to caldwells 15 that they score on and caldwell fumble late in 4th deep in their own end
Definitely keep schiano away from this coach.
