Guy was so lucky to get back to shore because of that unknown boogie boarder with fins and Seaside Heights Water Rescue Team..He was minutes away from not making 82

Because people are stupid? Hope the beach doesn't close here. Looking to go up tomorrow.I mean he is very lucky. Why would an 81 year old be in the ocean alone with these waves????
Bigger and rougher. I was at the beach all week last week. I didn't go in past my thighs, and I was getting hammered. Strong undertow. You could see the rips forming. That's why they had red flags and lifeguards on ATVs going up and down the beach getting people out of the water. Yet there are still people who will complain "their taxes pay for the beach, etc. It's my right to use it." But they are also the first ones to call for help when they get in over their head (no pun intended.)You know it’s about that time when the big wave you’re concerned about in front of you has an even bigger one behind it.
Again, I was by myself today and have to say they are getting bigger.
I will be on that beach watching the sunrise this weekend and every weekend until November. My bolt cutters are packed.
Guy is opening up to a whole bunch of legal issues. You cannot restrict people access to the coast line. Fishermen and surfers advocacy groups alone will make killing off of this.I will be on that beach watching the sunrise this weekend and every weekend until November. My bolt cutters are packed.![]()
Things are unsafe for swimmers because of the onshore stuff from the storm. Stuff is great for surfers but if you don't know what rips look like stay the HELL out of the ocean. You know it’s about that time when the big wave you’re concerned about in front of you has an even bigger one behind it.

Just got back from a fire run into Belmar (nothing), radio in Manasquan is very active.Boat capsized in Manasquan Inlet more than an hour ago with 5 on board. I've heard 4 rescued and 1 missing or 3 rescued, 1 missing, and 1 dead. Both the Point and Squan sides are full of emergency vehicles. 2 boats searching along with drones and flairs.

Helicopter just arrived.Just got back from a fire run into Belmar (nothing), radio in Manasquan is very active.
Incident commander is a friend of mine.Helicopter just arrived.
Told my boys…whenever you hear one at night say a little prayer as it’s probably a mariner in distress or a LifeFlight going to Jersey Shore with a trauma case.Helicopter just arrived.
Yea have no problem with ticketing people that put first responders at risk. Saying it is illegal to padlock access to the beach. And the surf rider and saltwater fishing advocacy groups will have a field day with this. I remember the case where a family closed access to the beach. They lost their shirt.
Yea been hearing the chopper for a while. Prayers sent. This isn’t good. Walked along the beach today. Was surprised how many boats were actively fishing in the inlet.Helicopter just arrived.
My Parents house is on Wreck Pond in Sea Girt and this statute has been put to the test.Guy is opening up to a whole bunch of legal issues. You cannot restrict people access to the coast line. Fishermen and surfers advocacy groups alone will make killing off of this.
You can’t have it both ways. They are being sued because some idiot drowned and said they didn’t tell him it was unsafe to swimYea have no problem with ticketing people that put first responders at risk. Sat on the beach for a couple hours today. Not a boat ventured out into open water while I was there.Yea been hearing the chopper for a while. Prayers sent. This isn’t good. Walked along the beach today. Was surprised how many boats were actively fishing in the inlet.
Exactly. It’s awful that someone lost their life but jenkinsons the largest landowner and beach operator in point pleasant has insurance to cover their liability. They can’t restrict access to the beach. It is illegal. You can’t have it both ways. They are being sued because some idiot drowned and said they didn’t tell him it was unsafe to swim
Yea they were all in the river. But there had to be 10 boats actively fishing the inlet.Sat on the beach for a couple hours today. Not a boat ventured out into open water while I was there.
Saw them. What looked like a C-130 just came over low heading north.Saw a schooner off the beach in Spring Lake. It was way out there.
Also saw the NJSP helicopter, some Ospreys from the Marines and a Dolphin helicopter from the USCG.
Yea saw the Coast Guard plane this morning. Father in law said it was in Point at sunrise.Saw them. What looked like a C-130 just came over low heading north.
Get someone in the water as fast as possible. You don't know how long it is going to take to deploy the wave runner. If you notice the wave runner picks up the life guard on the way out.what was up with the lifeguard that dove in only to be surpassed by the waverunner seconds later? Seems to make no sense to me.
Awful!Hearing there was a father and son on the boat. Son is the one missing.
