The average person trying to make ends meet doesn’t care about inflation in other countries—all they know is that their groceries, meals out, gas, housing prices, loans, etc have gone up a lot since 2021.Not one supporter of the Orange Rapist in this thread ever left North America.
How do you expect them to know?
Of course inflation in the US is lowest....and much higher in countries with conservative govs like the UK.
But Fox News and Benny Johnson didn't tell them so it's not part of CEsspool circle jerk.
Your command of talking points is legionLOL. The reserve doesn't control prices at all. Never has. When gas prices were higher than they are now under W, did he control them?
The leader of your cult caused the inflation with his massive tax scam and mismanagement of COVID. You have no proof it would be better. The US has the lowest inflation in the world. Facts. You only have suppositions.
Unemployment is lower now than it was with your Cult including pre COVID. What logic do you have?
There is no doubt that many people have sucked down the fact-free talking points you have sucked down.
It's cute though how you believe the polls. How did that work for you in the big red wave?
People know. It's why you keep losing elections.
One day you'll realize fellow people in your 40 some odd percent of the country can cry all the crocodile tears their propaganda told them. But us patriots in the majority don't answer polls and are thriving in this economy, not attending rallies, not watching Fox, and we vote a lot more reliably.
Glad I could debunk your talking points with facts and logic.
Now that your propaganda network will begin to move away from the economy, let me know the next lies up. 3 Mexican countries? Maybe Nikki Haley did Jan 6? Let's hear it!
You didn't answer the question, as usual. That word makes all the difference. Or are you arguing that all immigration is bad?You just pulled the typical liberal Jen Psaki move and zeroing in on a word instead of addressing the broader topic with substance. Your masters have taught you well.
I can't tell you exactly what's going on at the border, and I'm skeptical of what's reported because it's so politicized. You, no doubt, believe everything right wing media and politicians tell you. People coming to the border is not new, however. It's ludicrous to act like it is.So you agree it’s bad. You probably won’t but you should acknowledge the reason is 46 rolling back 45’s policies and telegraphing in debates that migrants should “surge the border.” I said it’s uncontrolled. Is there proper vetting before entry? Are people being released anywhere in the country they want to go? Are they being screened for diseases and given proper vaccinations before entering or going to public schools? Have they pledged allegiance to the US and have the same values and appreciation for our freedoms? None of that is happening. 10,000 a day and that’s not including those who got away.
There are numbers reported by the govt which is led by 46. They are in the millions per year for three years. That’s what’s going on and you know it. Stop your nonsense.I can't tell you exactly what's going on at the border, and I'm skeptical of what's reported because it's so politicized. You, no doubt, believe everything right wing media and politicians tell you. People coming to the border is not new, however. It's ludicrous to act like it is.
See? I didn’t stutter on what type of immigration. You still have to respond to my last comment to you on fascism. But I’ll look back at your other questions in your nonresponse to my immigration question, but if I recall them I believe the answer is no.You didn't answer the question, as usual. That word makes all the difference. Or are you arguing that all immigration is bad?
I’m getting really tired of you telling me what I think. Very douche-like.I can't tell you exactly what's going on at the border, and I'm skeptical of what's reported because it's so politicized. --Remember when Libs supported the First Amendment? Pepperidge Farms remembers. As for your blanket statement , show your work.I consider myself to be against:
- terminating the Constitution
Bill Clinton, hero of the left, says hello.- adjudicated rapists
See above, Bill Clinton says hello again.- Jeffrey Epstein
Jimmy Carter says hello.- Presidents who leave office with less jobs than they started
Hillary and Clinton says hello from Whitewater. Unfortunately, most of the key people are mysteriously dead and can't talk about it.- stealing from children's charities
????????- people trying to hang the VP
What about TV stations that rehire legal analysts who got caught masturbating with their pants off while on the air (or was it a Zoom call)-either way does not matter.- TV stations that pay 787M in defamation judgments
Rachel Maddow says hello.- TV stations who argue in court that no reasonable person would take them seriously
How about in a garage?- Stealing classified documents and hiding them in a bathroom
Or defending your loser son and putting your thumb on the scales to keep getting him off.- Paying off a porn star while talking family values
No comment. Bad look. You finally got one! Congrats.- Claiming you lost an election when dozens of judges you yourself appointed found no proof
Bending over for Xi, and getting abused by leaders worldwide is not a good look.- Praising Putin and Xi
You people on both sides are hilarious. This is shaping up to be two worse choice than 2016. But keep ignoring your own candidate's faults and highlighting the others.- Saluting North Korean generals
I probably missed some. Are those "liberal" positions? To someone who says the President controls gas prices and 3.7% unemployment is bad, yeah, probably.
But they're actually the positions of most of the public shown absolutely every November for many years now.
Maybe it's everyone else tuned into reality?
Like you just did? Deal with it whiny snowflake. Your side does it all the time.I’m getting really tired of you telling me what I think. Very douche-like

That deficits are not unique to one party but we hear a lot of complaining about them when a certain party is in office. What are you implying here, Tom?
You know you’re doing bad with the economy when you have to start comparing yourself to Europe. Keep telling yourself things are going greatBidenomics- The best response to inflation in the world:

Sounds like you’re sad the economy is strong…so you really must’ve hated that 50%-better-than-‘45’-could-have-ever-conjured 3.3% real GDP growth fourth quarter too…You know you’re doing bad with the economy when you have to start comparing yourself to Europe. Keep telling yourself things are going great
The GDP is a completely manipulated number inflated by large government spending. Of course GDP is “great.”Sounds like you’re sad the economy is strong…so you really must’ve hated that 50%-better-than-‘45’-could-have-ever-conjured 3.3% real GDP growth fourth quarter too…
You might want to look up a guy named Dwight D Eisenhower and ask yourself if he’d be a MAGA hat.

Well W Bush screwed with the federal surpluses by starting wars in order to accrue political capital and we will struggle to get out from under that trajectory until a little billionaire austerity happens (and them simply paying taxes they already owe would be an improvement as the unpaid “tax gap” has soared in recent years). The GDP is a completely manipulated number inflated by large government spending. The economy isn’t doing well. People can’t afford stuff. The economy is working for the upper class. Meanwhile the middle class can barely afford groceries. Keep telling yourself that things are okay
This is all that matters to the average person (from ABC News recent poll, so not a right leaning source):Sounds like you’re sad the economy is strong…so you really must’ve hated that 50%-better-than-‘45’-could-have-ever-conjured 3.3% real GDP growth fourth quarter too…

I have no affinity for billionaires, but how much can you really expect to get from them collectively in any year? Sure, it will make some people feel better but it probably will be a blip in overall tax revenue.Well W Bush screwed with the federal surpluses by starting wars in order to accrue political capital and we will struggle to get out from under that trajectory until a little billionaire austerity happens (and them simply paying taxes they already owe would be an improvement as the unpaid “tax gap” has soared in recent years).
Wages are definitely lagging due to the inflation spike of 22 but are now catching up. Just know that billionaires are lending to the US government by buying Treasuries while they simultaneously “invest” in Bitcoin because federal deficits are definitely a big problem and threaten the currency. This is all that matters to the average person (from ABC News recent poll, so not a right leaning source):
“Broad economic discontent is a key force in current political attitudes. Given 2022's 40-year high in inflation, just 13% of Americans now say they've gotten better off financially since Biden took office; 43% instead say they're not as well off, a point from the 37-year record set in September. For comparison, in the middle of Trump's term in office, just one-third as many people, 13%, said they were not as well off.”
Maybe people just need a good lecturing and they’ll come around.
I usually use the term mega-millionaires and there are actually quite a few households in that category in this country. Tax cuts by W and Trump were huge in dollar terms to mega-millionaires. I agree with you that the middle class gets screwed today so I was very happy that the Dems even got former Bernie bro Fetterman to say that middle class taxes should be lowered…and there is no big push for Medicare for all. I’m not a fan at all of adopting the British health-care model although other European nations offer some decent ideas which could bring the outrageous costs down in the US. I can’t believe people bother to complain about gasoline when they are paying 10X what they pay for gas in healthcare every year.I have no affinity for billionaires, but how much can you really expect to get from them collectively in any year? Good..he is a liar
Six pages of discussion about offshore wind projects being cancelled. And not one mention of whales.
I'm shocked and saddened. Saddened and shocked. Shocked, I say. Shocked. And saddened.![]()
Reasonable center-left takes, so much appreciated. So allow me to react from a center-right view. Average people only really compare themselves to themselves. Those with an agenda, such as to make people feel like victims, point out what others are getting. The 2017 tax cuts helped people at the lower end more than the higher end. I believe it was 5+% after tax. So wages were going up, unemployment was going down, and they got to keep more of what they made. Unfortunately, much of the healthcare costs are the result of the ACA. So in the later 44 years, things were improving in terms of employment and wage growth, but they were being eaten up by higher healthcare costs from company plans having to be compliant with ACA, the result being higher out of pocket costs and less competition (all the hospital systems buying each other up, like RWJ Barnabas). The combination of wage growth and tax cuts under 45 got people back to even and then in the black again. My hope with any of these discussions is not to change anyone's point of view, but to show that there are equally compelling facts from the opposite perspective.I usually use the term mega-millionaires and there are actually quite a few households in that category in this country. I am hoping (dreaming?) to see more exchanges like this convo between KnightOwl and WasAtRutgers in the future. Silly, I know...Reasonable center-left takes, so much appreciated. Remember when they said the adults were in charge again? Not a good look, and very dumb post.
Yup the same Europe that struggled much more significantly from higher energy inflation being on the frontline of the Russia-Ukraine war, is suffering markedly from the China slowdown, and, as usual, is paying the price of their socialist-lite labor laws that handcuff businesses. Btw the WaPO article is actually a fairly balanced analysis, some highlights:You know you’re doing bad with the economy when you have to start comparing yourself to Europe. Keep telling yourself things are going great
Probably not an advisable tweet from a health authority, but the smily emoji at least gets it to be tongue in cheek.Ehhhh isn't this just sarcastic mocking here? I think the one guy is mocking the fact that any time someone young would get hurt or die, the wackadoodles would blame the vaccine.
You mean the President that was in office during a once-in-a-century global pandemic and signed truly bipartisan covid relief packages? For all you deficit hawks here is the information on every president. Note the percentage they increased it. Consider who served 4 years and who served 8.
Yes our massive deficit-spending will certainly bite us in the azz, actually already is with the locked-in price increases and high interest rates.politics aside, the economy is not great and it's both parties fault and the Fed has culpability. This isn't a single party issue by any stretch. we've pockets that are good and pockets that are bad and the only thing keeping it propped up is gov't and fed accomodation (much of which many don't even understand as it relates to dollar swap line with foreign central banks that help keep us afloat)
the stock mkt is not the economy and runs on different variables with a huge invisible hand![]()
To be fair, 43 did run up deficits on wars that went beyond their initially intended purpose, and 44 did have a once in a century financial crisis to deal with. One can argue whether those monies could be spent differently, but most reasonable people would acknowledge that those initial Covid relief packages were necessary even though some bad actors were able to take advantage of them. You mean the President that was in office during a once-in-a-century global pandemic and signed truly bipartisan covid relief packages?
