Texas A&M is fruit ripe for the picking... they are big mad at ESPN and the SEC. The South Carolina economy makes zero sense to me... that's why the SEC and ESPN won't even entertain having two schools in that state. Nobody knows how long Clemson will keep their coach and whether or not they'll be relevant afterwards. I'd rather the Big 10 Target a school with more tangibles. A brand and region with more steak than sizzle.

You can’t replace the playoffs unless you break away from the NCAA. So much money tied up in the bowl games and TV etc.
The NCAA doesn't run the college football playoffs. Basketball yes, football no.

I know this but if they want to eliminate they playoff system they need to break away. It was the NCAA they fought playoff expansion

Yea I guess that could be right. And that might be closer to happening than ever before. Taking the NCAA basketball tournament away from the NCAA would be a huge boon to these schools.

College expansion has been a wild ride over the past year or so, and it doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon.

The Big Ten has spearheaded the movement. The storied conference adds USC and UCLA in 2024. It may not be done, either.

Barstool Sports' Jack McGuire is hearing a rumor that the Big Ten is adding four schools this week: Clemson, Florida State, Oregon and Washington.

That would poach two universities from the ACC - arguably its top-two athletics programs - and two from the Pac-12 - arguably its best as well, even with USC and UCLA in the mix.

Soon there will be one massive conference called "College Football". For scheduling purposes, however, 10 teams in the west, 10 teams in the midwest, 10 teams along the Atlantic and 10 teams in the south east will play each other yearly. In the north east, however, a bunch of basketball only schools will dominate and prevent the scheduling of 10 teams to form the north east group.

Lol R football is dead. We never had a shot in the B1G. We still haven’t received full payouts and now 4 more that will get instant passes for full money. I’m tired of this. For success, we should have stayed in Big East. Schiano royally ****** the program leaving for the NFL. We wouldn’t have had to restart from square 1. This program will never be successful.

No doubt we could go 0-0 in the big east every year

Our AD blew the next 2 hires.
Good coaches would have come for the right price. Failure to raise funds & land a decent coach is not the former coaches fault.

Yes, we may have been better if he stayed and continued success, but he went for NFL opportunity when we had no decent long-term conference options ahead of us at the time. I don't blame him.

In my opinion this is unlikely at present. Just cannot see the ACC GOR being broken easily. It would be interesting if Clemson and FSU announced now they are leaving in 2036 and will not sign on to any new ACC media rights deal. The conference would be a dead man walking and might not survive until 2036.

Just heard from my connected Clemson buddy. Buddy on the Clemson board said there is nothing to it and the FSU argument that they were lied to will only make lawyers rich.

Any expansion had to include to west coast teams. Any “east” expansion that doesn’t mention UVA or NC is just stilly

LOL … talk about a lack of fit! A&M already left a conference that had Texas in it and was “excoriated” for allegedly running away from Texas…imagine the perception beating they would take if they left for the B1G as Texas is coming into the SEC? A&M got caught with its breeches down by their ankles…they just need to buck up and deal with the set up they have going forward.

Frankly, Texas to the Big Ten makes more sense🤷🏻‍♂️

What is the fascination with UNC or Virginia? Neither one of them bring anything to the table in regards to football. I don't care if the school is AAU or not, bring in the best football schools you can IMO.

Is that how you felt when we needed/wanted a home. If the B1G people felt that way we’d be getting our pink slip
Exactly. Conferences need bottom feeders to inflate the records of the competitive teams. Bottom feeders schedule Wagner every year. I wonder who UVA will schedule OOC if admitted.

This isn’t about paid games but Richmond and William and Mary are easy wins.
