Great interview with Tucker by Russell Brand you should listen to it. The science is clearCan't wait to hear people whining about the windmills being visible, because we know that's 99% of what's really going on with R's faux concern with marine mammals - they had to find something to cloak their concerns in, but fortunately, the science is pretty clear that the windmills pose little threat (and especially the work done so far). I'm sure once the windmills are built, they'll come up with something "new" like windmills causing autism or some other medical malady that spikes up after the windmills are built. Aside from that, I'm very happy to see this alternative energy effort moving forward. Well done Gov Murphy.
Banning books ? My town and innumerable others if you care to pay attention, unless you simply don’t recognize the educational farce perpetuated by the ‘deplorables’ staring you in the face, genius.
You can't be serious. Have you read any of the actual science I and others have posted all over this thread? Clearly not. Also, Brand has absolutely zero scientific expertise, while I've been posting peer-reviewed scientific research on this - that's what people with scientific expertise do.Great interview with Tucker by Russell Brand you should listen to it. That’s, by far, the most creative insult you’ve ever produced in all your years on these forums. Not a bad effort at all.Guy can’t even operate a spatula in his own house and consequently has to eat out all the time.

@RU848789, you see this? I think, in between all the cousin sex he’s been having up in the TN hills, Moose has been sipping from the well of IQ.
Good work, Moose. But, you know, keep sipping.![]()
Investing isn't about science, per se, so your point is kind of irrelevant, but the "debate" over whether windmills kill whales is and the best scientific research clearly indicates that windmills are a negligible threat; commercial shipping and boating are the source of most close-to-shore injuries to whales. You and your science are a product of propaganda.
I consume information for a living for the purpose of investing I have been doing it since 1985 with great success to the families and bottom line I am accountable to.
I would never use what you spew as science on here to invest.

I have no idea if it’s killing whales or not but I still think it will end up being a bad idea. Rates will skyrocket and these things are going to start falling apart eventually. No one really knows what effect it will have on the marine life or anything else but we do know someone will have to pay for this massive project with massive tax incentives. That will be usWhy don't you make a scientific case for windmills killing whales? We'll wait - and be prepared to laugh. Also, we eat out a lot because we enjoy food that expert chefs in various cuisines create (which is better than what 99% of us can make), but can also make some excellent meals when the mood strikes. And last time I checked, cooking proficiency isn't connected to scientific acumen.
I guess you just use this site 24/7 so do what works for you boss.Much of world, it seems, is in serious need of a vacation from TV, Radio, newspapers, and the internet. For at least a couple weeks, more is better.
Get out and talk with people, strangers or friends, about the simple joys of life, lightning bugs, laughter, a cool drink on a hot day, stuff like that. Avoid anyone who wants to talk about what's wrong with anything (like the plague).
Trust me, you'll feel a lot better. The world will be okay without your constant attention.
Separate topic from what many of us have been discussing. As I said early on, you brought up some good points in your original post about the success of such a huge project and which wasn't about windmills killing whales, but the thread then got derailed by some people making ridiculous claims about windmills killing whales, which many of us refuted, as the science is pretty clear on that. Let's hope the folks running this project have learned what to do and not do from the many offshore windmill installations worldwide.I have no idea if it’s killing whales or not but I still think it will end up being a bad idea. You ever see me complaining or outraged about anything? Coaching, players, windmills, politics?I guess you just use this site 24/7 so do what works for you boss.
Full disclosure, I did kill a couple whales when I landed in the pond. What? They were small one.Have you ever been hit in the butt by a windmill? I have, and let me tell you, it was no laughing matter. Not for me, at least.
How did it happen, you ask? Well, I was hanging out in a field with some sheep, one day. We were pretty bored. So I suggested we play a game of who could get the closest to a nearby wind turbine without getting hit.
I lost. Got flung through the air 40 yards before landing in a pond. Climbed out of the pond to find all the sheep rolling on the ground, baaing in laughter.
Let’s just say I stuck to driving the rest of that night.
You're probably correct but the lack of curiosity on "your side" comes off as being tinged with being politically motivated. And sorry but I'll pass in your determination of scientific concensus. Do you still believe Covid originated from the fish market?Investing isn't about science, per se, so your point is kind of irrelevant, but the "debate" over whether windmills kill whales is and the best scientific research clearly indicates that windmills are a negligible threat; commercial shipping and boating are the source of most close-to-shore injuries to whales.
Not sure what you mean about lack of curiosity. I had barely read anything about windmills and potential environmental impacts before reading this thread, but I recall my initial gut feeling about windmills being unlikely to be a major threat to marine mammals, after reading the first article or two saying they were, as they were so poorly written. But being a deeply curious person, I then spent hours researching the topic, looking for high quality peer-reviewed studies and what I found and posted earlier in this thread made it obvious to me that the risks from windmills were way overblown and even fabricated. You're probably correct but the lack of curiosity on "your side" comes off as being tinged with being politically motivated. If I had to choose at what I have to see at the beach it would easily be windmills over oil rigs or a NG facility.I wouldn't live next to a big windfarm, but I just camped next to a small cluster of windmills and it really didn't impact the experience at all. Great mountain views in the middle of nowhere, and the windmills were just a relaxing part of the scenery - more lighthouse, less power plant.
To keep it level, I don't think a few oil derricks would bother me either. And old mining towns are great to visit.
Why make it political? But since you did, Democratic Senators are in on the game too. Of course, Sen Menendez, who the idiots of this state continually vote for despite multiple shady and slimy interludes, such as his "activities" in the DR, needs to distract the voters again with his virtue signaling concern for the whales while he tries to swim upstream from another scandal. But the idiots will vote for him again if he survives this scandal. Can't wait to hear people whining about the windmills being visible, because we know that's 99% of what's really going on with R's faux concern with marine mammals - they had to find something to cloak their concerns in, but fortunately, the science is pretty clear that the windmills pose little threat (and especially the work done so far). I've only been talking about the science and the windmill-whale "connection" has been almost completely concocted by R's who oppose alternative energy over fossil fuels - I didn't make it political, they have and they've tried to cloak their opposition as an environmental issue, when that's not really what the issue is. I completely agree that both sides will politicize the overall project/costs/tax breaks, etc. and am no fan of Menendez. Why make it political? And those corporation-hating Dems found a way to give a wealthy foreign company huge tax breaks, while screwing the NJ taxpayers. And another greedy foreign corporation is windmill-blade rattling that they just can't survive and get fatter without tax breaks. Oh the humanity, hope they can be saved too.
That's the narrative pushed by the liberal news rags. I'd love to see the cost benefit research for the NJ windmill project. Do you have that handy?
Taking into account the multiple millions of dollars Murphy and the Dems just gifted a foreign company, screwing over the taxpayers, the cost of maintenance, turbine blade replacement, etc, etc. Have there been successful windfarms in other parts of the world in the middle of an ocean or sea? One would think that with the salt water and air, maintenance may be expensive. Not throwing stones, asking questions. Wish everyone would get over fear of nuclear already. It is the most cost-effective source of energy.
You know I don't "normally" like to go off news accounts, etc. I did find some info on North Sea Wind farms linked below, and one has been in operation since 2007, but the large majority have been in operation only 7 years. Can you help me understand what the "multiple millions of dollars" is, in a tangible sense?
As for maintenance, etc. - that's a given with any generating station. Those are significant costs, not only in terms of real dollars but also with regard to lost revenue incurred during downtime. Nuclear wins the prize on this, btw.
And yes, there are windfarms in the North Sea & English Channel that have been operating for a number of years, quite successfully.
It’s really, follow the PSYOPSNever forget “follow the science” folks.

As far as millions, I'm not sure who supports the newjerseymonitor.com website, but they say:
"The value of the credit would be $2.40 per year per ratepayer, by Ørsted’s estimate, but the company’s total potential savings is unclear." Various sources say NJ has 3.5 million electric ratepayers (at least residential)--that equates to about $8.4 million per year, which in the grand scheme of a large corporate balance sheet, is not much. One could argue that neither is $2.40/year. But why screw the residents and reward a rich foreign corporation?
I'm always open to "alternative facts" in a search for truth. And that's not a joke. Reading recent Supreme Court decisions, it seems that a lot of alternative facts were thrown around that were later debunked. But I digress. I wish politicians on all sides could me more honest and transparent with the facts.
You ever wire a cardboard bale? I can do it in less than 10 minutes. I bet u never replaced a starter on a car. I just did my lady’s car a few hours back. Gotta get my 5 bucks back for the core. Oh and I replaced her brake pads about a month back. Rotors were fine which is a big rip off when you go to a shop. Once you really start playin' ball, you'll stop getting those all together. Because you made unScrewed's volumes-long "I CANT HEER U!!" list.I've come to discover that if @RUTGERS95 or @RUScrew85 appends a "laugh" emoji to one of my posts, then that post is by definition perfect.
Thanks, guys, for helping me keep it real.
