Lol, even the administration of the liar-in-chief now states that the number of people who will be dying every day in the U.S. by June 1st will be 3,000, even as they are pushing to lift restrictions:

If this seems dangerous, dumb, and wrong, that's because it is.
Do you think we should just all stay home and have the government write us a check for 6 months? Serious question.
Do you think we should just all stay home and have the government write us a check for 6 months? Serious question.
surely you can make a more coherent argument than that.
kids aren't going to school
start with at least acknowledging that.
Remember essential services were still open, and relatively protected because many areas kept their virus loads low...what happens to essential services when there is a major outbreak because non-essential activities opened? Do you really think highly intelligent leaders shut down their cities jus' to show they can? The bane of all civilizations is the critical mass of the stupid whose decisions rule for all. In a pandemic you are only as safe as the dumbest person next to you.
You are puzzled by idiotic behavior on a free board for a central plains football team? I think this whole experience exposes the ignorance and unexceptional nature of our society. 25% of the world's resources goes to 3% of the world's population...that population is one of the fattest and worst educated...arrogant and ignorant. Apathetic but motivated to stay stupid. And the funny thing...it has always been this way..we have always been viewed as yokels, yankees, gansters. It will be recorded that the response to gravest challenge in recent American history, was the great reopening of America on the same day that the DAILY death toll reached levels that China experienced over 80 days. Don't forget we were the last "western" nation to abolish slavery, we were the last western nation to let its citizens vote freely, we were the last western nation to pass laws that dictate all americans are educated equally. We are the most violent western nation, with extreme suicide and overdose rates. I think our expectations of our exceptionalism have been painted by lies and insulated by random and fortunate geographic and extrinsic wealth. I am patriotic at heart...I wanted America to handle this crisis better than any other nation...I wanted us to be a shining light, a counter to the dictatorship in China. Sadly, the opposite has happened. IThe defense of the idiotic behavior concerning Covid is quite puzzling on this board. Would think all would be taking relevant precautions so that football can return to Memorial this fall. I would think that would be the hope for all of us. And I don't mean "stay home and cower and fear". Rather, don't be an idiot in public and respect the biology of the virus. But ignoring health professionals to "own the libs" seems to be the order of the day for some.
Darwinism in effect?I don't wear a mask when I go to stores. What good does it do if I don't cough or sneeze and stay away from other people?
I once had a girlfriend who liked to have sex before we went out for the evening.I like to have sex before we leave for the evening.....if it happens again great, but we ended up getting home so late and had enough wine, i was pretty glad to just get up to bed and fall asleep!!!
Then move to China ya Blowhard. You are puzzled by idiotic behavior on a free board for a central plains football team? Good to see you are doing your part to challenge the capacity of our critical care systems. And of course you are the one that is pretty sure that you won't just slip away from life alone with a tube stuck down your throat.
quick question- how many have died from “regular” flu this year? Not trying to be curt, just can’t find the real stats....
And leave behind great amuricans like you...never!Then move to China ya Blowhard.
Jesus H Key-rist. I like there to be a balance on this board. But you are full of it. You get on your skyscraper of a soap box about EVERYTHING. Unless you are captain Greenpeace that doesnt drink, doesnt smoke, is in perfect health because he consumes NOTHING that has ever been considered bad, donates most of his wealth to 3rd world peoples while living in an off-grid shack......... Shut up already. We F-ing GET IT!! People are in general irrational stupid creatures. But damn say something constructive. So, you can see why old soviets said 'the future we know,it's the past that keeps changing"Old, old playbook.
Imposition of the common good under authoritarian rule and dictatorship
First steps:
As things progress:
- Through divine insight or scientific analysis (e.g. Marxism–Leninism) the common good can be objectively defined.
- Only the ruling elite is capable of doing so.
- The "common good" justifies any means, including force, to overcome resistance and opposition.
- Critics of the "common good" or the ruling elite are denounced as enemies.
Final progression:
- Groups or individuals promoting an alternative or articulating criticism are silenced.
- The right to participation is granted only to supporters of the regime. (i.e. only certain groups are allowed to hold demonstrations)
- Media are censored. The ruler decides what problems, interests or goals are admitted to the political agenda.
- Consent is enforced and predefined by the ruler.
- Controversy is considered disharmonious and dangerous, as it is difficult to control.
Heres the problem, by the time peer review happens, thousands of people have died, become infected or become immune. Too late. Same for governor actions, most states attorneys and judges will back the governor, and aren't as based in the constitution as the feds are. So, then you lose and have to run it up to federal court, by this time, things have changed.Trying to track these answers down in real time in a way that passes muster for peer review isn't easy. People are making claims about asymptomatic numbers based upon a few surveys. The truth is we know those cases exist, but the multiplier factor is a hypothetical and even that will vary by geographic region.
Too many people with too little info and base level knowledge trying to cherry pick data to prove their pet hypothesis.
Toddlers have talk about having sex with girls? Ewwwwww.
Show me one study thats close to 'known' infections. Just one. I will wait.Trying to track these answers down in real time in a way that passes muster for peer review isn't easy. It appears the original model is as off as asymptomatic peoples.the experts were so close:
The flu is not tracked consistently but the last time it was documented they "counted" 5k-25k deaths...but...the CDC uses mortality tracking which is probably the best way to measure the effect of a virus. You set a baseline of deaths due to all causes for particular date and then measure the % above normal.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm
Excess deaths is the best measuring tool. America see between 25-40% excess death rates right now compared to a normal spring. The sad thing is...we were probably on the bottom side of the curve when we reopened and only needs another month or so...June 1st is what the models predicted for a good opening time. But Murica is gonna Murica....
It actually is hope. Hope for those that are, they can get back to work. Hope for business owners they can operate safely and not have tradgedy happen in the work place. Hope for all of us by gaining some form of herd effect, not perfecr, but lowering your chances of getting it,especially if a business you buy from has immune people working there, just some potential threats out of the way.I hear ya- I’m lucky in that I can stay inside for long time.... BUT what you need to understand is A LOT of people have lost their jobs and have no savings or means to pay bills, AND they feel fine. And when “experts” say “25-50 asymptomatic”- that doesn’t foster confidence in their analysis, big margin of error there.
You are somewhat correct. I tell people when I walk in to a business that the mask I'm wearing is to protect them more than me. A lot of the places I do business with take affront to mask wearing but when I tell them that they seem fine with it. Yeah I kind of live in the wild wild west where outlaws where masks. Obviously I fib a little bit when I say that but it is appropriate to have some consideration for other's safety. Today I walked in to a small shop where 3 guys were sitting around BSing and the book keeper who is a recent breast cancer survivor was working 10 feet away. She's a bright lady. No masks anywhere. Their choice. They know the risks. Personally I was glad I had one on just to at least hope that I wouldn't give the book keeper something.C'mon people. The mask is to protect others, not yourself. It's been shown that just breathing can shed the virus. The mask prevents that to a large degree.
So which of these ignorant governors are outside the boundaries established here:We are finding out, many of our governors are ignorant towards their people, and the thing they've sworn to uphold, the constitution.
Also, most state constitutions allow for only 30 days emergency anyways, extensions are already being handed out. The feds emergency end April 30th, the states have better have a plan, they have one month.
The idea that the number of COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. are being under counted is ridiculous. I agree that people should probably wear masks when going in to stores where true social distancing isn't possible. Anybody threatening another person over wearing a mask is a complete idiot. I wear a goofy dust mask which really doesn't prevent aerosols but at least I won't suck in a large infected droplet if someone coughs. Your largest risk is breathing in a large does of virus via droplets. The risk from picking up the virus from surfaces is very low unless you lick them or get your hand in some virus then pick your nose. (what they really meant when they said don't touch your face was don't pick your noseWinking)Point one - if anything, the number of official Covid deaths are being undercounted.
Point two - yes, it is serious. Question for you: should people be protesting with automatic weapons the actions that elected officials have taken against this serious virus?
Point three - yes, pre-cautions should be taken, but I'm seeing an absence of that. Should shop keepers be threatened because they want folks to wear facial covering on their premises?
Point four - don't know what communism has to do with this matter. If by communism you mean elected officials and the health officials they rely on for advice issuing reasonable emergency orders, then I think you are wrong.
Just stop.No it isn't. It's theater, paid for by the super wealthy who are trying to run this country as their own cash machines. Suckers like you just keep falling for it.
Any actions picks winners and losers in business. So which of these ignorant governors are outside the boundaries established here:
Opening Up America Again
I've never claimed to know how much of the economy should have been shut down, or the pace at which it should be reopened. But there's a lot of partisan squealing being directed at selected governors who seem to be following this guidance.
So I'll ask again: which governors are dragging their feet and defying the White House guidelines?Any actions picks winners and losers in business.
As a consumer, any action distorts or prevents liberties.
Very little of this is constitutional, stay in your house, wearing masks etc, regardless which way you fall politically.
It's by the peoples grace for the sake of the people. When that line is crossed is when you start seeing decention.
By that definition, of which politicians are supposedly experts at, thats the true framework.
I'll answer again, any governor breaking the constitution without the peoples grace. So I'll ask again: which governors are dragging their feet and defying the White House guidelines?
So the White House guidelines are promoting this unconstitutional behavior? If so, perhaps AG Barr could save himself a lot of trouble by taking up his grievances with the WH task force.I'll answer again, any governor breaking the constitution without the peoples grace.
Best post yet from you. Keep it up fella. And leave behind great amuricans like you...never!
This needs to be rethought. So the White House guidelines are promoting this unconstitutional behavior? If so, perhaps AG Barr could save himself a lot of trouble by taking up his grievances with the WH task force.
The White House guidelines are not mandates - they're guidelines. But you're blathering on and on and on about ignorant, tyrannical governors imposing unconstitutional restrictions, yet you cannot seem to muster any outrage whatsoever about the guidelines these governors are following. How convenient. This needs to be rethought.
Where are the mandates?
I'll wait.
No, you're blathering on not understanding what's being said. Can't help you there. The White House guidelines are not mandates - they're guidelines. But you're blathering on and on and on about ignorant, tyrannical governors imposing unconstitutional restrictions, yet you cannot seem to muster any outrage whatsoever about the guidelines these governors are following. Well arresting somebody for paddle boarding by themselves out in the middle of a lake is kind of suspect IMO. Issuing $500 tickets to a couple out for a walk because they weren't social distancing seems a little harsh. Is it unconstitutional? Hell who knows anymore what is constitutional. The White House guidelines are not mandates - they're guidelines. But you're blathering on and on and on about ignorant, tyrannical governors imposing unconstitutional restrictions, yet you cannot seem to muster any outrage whatsoever about the guidelines these governors are following. Everyone's teflon...until one of their loved ones contracts the virus. One of the best things that could happen to this country is that the leaders have a close family member contract this virus and end up on a vent. Perspective goes a long way.
That's because you're failing miserably to explain why you're criticizing governors for following guidelines posted on a White House website. No, you're blathering on not understanding what's being said. Can't help you there.
I could repeat what I've already said, but you didn't get it the first two times.
That's because you're failing miserably to explain why you're criticizing governors for following guidelines posted on a White House website.
