OT: Daylight Savings Time starts next Saturday!

hate the few days of biorhythm adjustments (falling asleep at the same time but then waking up an hour early) but the sunlight late into the day is great.
leave home at 8am for work so there isnt a morning darkness issue for me.

I would rather we keep dls all year. Once I'm in the office I don't care what time the sun rises.
In 1974 and 1975 we were on DST almost all year round.Then Indiana started complaining instead of going on Central time.
Indiana decided it was best not to observe daylight savings time. They stay on standard time all year.
When I was in grad school in that state, I contended the real reason they chose to stay on standard time was that the average Hoosier never could figure out which way to turn the clocks, and after a couple of years most of them would be a day or two behind everyone else.

Not sure where you live that the sun is setting at 5:00. Today in New Brunswick, sunset is at 5:49 and dusk (when it actually gets dark) isn't until 6:16.
But next week when they turn the clocks forward, sunrise will be at 7:21 am and dawn will be at 6:54 am. So a lot of people will be getting up in the dark, and depending on their commute, they'll be driving in the dark.

Since 2006, Indiana does observe daylight savings time. The confusing thing in Indiana is that most of the state is in the Eastern time zone but there are 12 western counties in the Central time zone. We drove across the southern part of the state on our way to Kansas City and the clock on the satellite radio re-set itself several times as we drove through the different counties.
