That's one moat. Engineering an EV capable of charging at 1 MW (or even close to that speed) is another.
I think that’s important for long distance driving. Personally, it wouldn’t impact my decision. It’s a DD with avg daily miles of 10 and max of 25.
I agree, that's because we're both EV owners. Range anxiety is mostly for non EV owners.
Curious... What's your experience with EA chargers?
I recently watched an interview with an EA rep stating their chargers are made by different manufacturers and use different parts. I suspect that's the issue with the supposed reliability issues associated with EA. Repair crews are showing up to these chargers not knowing who made it or what parts are in it.
I have used 5 different EA stations. No issues with any of them. It’s 40kw in 30 min. I experienced issues with EVgo charger at a mall. Plug-in and start but would just shutdown after 5 min.
Thought I read California is turning to decaffeination again. Makes sense with all that coastline.Not to mention they have a superior decaffeination process.
Interesting article on Tesla bringing radar back into the mix. Also interesting that it’s apparently not Lidar, which is more precise, albeit it likely more expensive. Perhaps the article is correct and Tesla Vision ain’t all it’s cracked up to be?

Strawman. Nobody actually seriously thinks EVs aren't more energy-efficient, not even the numb-nuts who pretend to believe and/or claim otherwise.
It's like global warming. Nobody seriously thinks it's not happening, it's become way too obvious. Everybody knows both these things.
The problem is convincing people to GAF about it.
Had the 240v outlet and a Generac Switch installed. Total cost was $3,250. Labor was $1900 (8hrs) and $1350 for materials. The generator worked as promised. Will update you on the level 2 charging but I’m expecting the Ford advertised 7kw/hr number.

@jtung230 - I did truck things yesterday with my truck. Made a bunch of runs to the recycling/trash center to unload a ton of cardboard from a project at my house and loaded up some old windows that we just removed and dumped them. The contractor was going to do this, but I wanted to do truck stuff with my truck. The nice thing about local driving is in 5 trips, I consumed very little battery range. Probably traveled. 15 miles, and used up 5 of range due to regenerative braking.

. I no longer have range anxiety thanks to the level 2 charger at home. Also found some money by discovering federal tax credits for EV charger installation. I find the sweet spot to be 10-20 miles trip with 2.5 miles/kWh. My usual in town trips of under 3 miles get a poor result of 1.8 miles/kWh
Ha, ha. We have the charger install tabbed for a tax break. With that two $7,500 credits for EV and PHEV and solar install, the feds may owe us money! Not exactly, but IMO, it's good policy to encourage investment in new technologies, and for us, technologies that will save us money down the road.Me too. I dropped off my kids at birthday parties
I'm doing more real truck stuff. Bought the loading ramps in the link below. My lawn tractor blew a head gasket (and I did too). The local shop charges $300 round trip to pick up/drop off. I will also be able to use these for my snowblower when it needs service that I cannot handle, (but I have been doing fine servicing it myself).
Speaking of snowblower and truck stuff, I’m eyeing this when my Toro dies.
Outside my service area-sorry. And ya know, with the winter weather, I don't like to drive outside the range of my longest extension cord. For years, I struggled with the idea of how I would get my snowblower to the shop if I needed to--but that forced me to dig deep and remember what I learned in my small engine repair course for high school. That said, our next snowblower will be battery powered. The EGO one gets stellar reviews.
IDK- I have a fear of driving backwards on a snow-covered driveway with a plow on the back. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. For that cost, can get one of these, which are highly rated, and it is an "EV" if you give the kids a ride on it?
I have been eyeing that up for a while. It was not available for the last two years and people were selling them for a big premium on Amazon. When I picked up the Generac Switch from ACE, they had them. But now I’m a trucker so I only work with heavy machinery. Plus, it only takes a minute to back out of my driveway vs 45 min with a blower. Of course I’m not going to factor in the hour that will take me to put on and take off the plow.

I have a horeshoe/circular driveway, like most truck owners in the suburbs. I can guarantee that if I adopted the rear plow, I would annually need: (1) a new mailbox (2) new mailbox post (3) new landscaping/topsoil for all the of stuff I plowed over (4) counseling (5) snow plow driver instruction. Seems too expensive.
Maybe Tesla will come up with an autonomous reverse-driving snowplow on the cybertruck?

I'm afraid your age is showing. Mine too, as I'm no longer into video games. But, gaming in a comfy seat, climate controlled, HD screen, with an awesome sound system is a nice perk. I've played around with some of the current games, but this is a big upgrade. Thousands of games on the STEAM platform. Players can pick up where they left off on their in house consoles too.

The last video games I enjoyed were Pong, Asteroids, and Punch Out. I have zero time to waste with games, and no desire to play them. Besides, I'm busy doing truck stuff in my Motor Trend Truck of the Year!
Have to admit the initial "shock" in drop in range in cold weather was jarring, but I love having an all electric truck.

Instead of 300, around 260/270. But that's misleading, because in around suburban stop and go driving, I find that in 10 mile trips, I may consume 4 or 5 miles of range because of regenerative braking. Range "overconsumption" usually occurs on freeways in cold weather. Not doing much commuting, and we have free charging at the office, so it is not an issue.
