Have the yanks beat any top pitchers? Seems like AL has weak pitching. The NL home of the world champs have tons of ace pitchers. Anyway Judge has been a fun story. Just remember its only the start of a yr and nothing in his history points to this type of production. Last yr struck out 50% of the time and batted 180. Im sure he is somewhere in between and not babe ruth lol
Beat Chris Sale

Pitching in the NL is much easier than pitching in the AL for obvious reasons.

Must really suck being a Met fan with a small penis complex when it comes to the Yanks

This. Mickey Mantle might be a better example but even there AJ has a long way to go before we can start comparing him to the Mick.
Yes, just his first year. But not since Mantle have I seen such incredible power to center and the opposite field. Here is a video of every Judge home run this year. Just amazing!

A flash in the pan would likely be trying to pull every ball. Judge is not.

I remember when Frank Thomas was young a lot of people thought he was going to be the all-time homerun king

Phillies fan here. Ryan Howard hit huge CF and oppo homeruns like this too. Won ROY and BMP, but quickly fell apart physically. Tends to happen to big guys. See also: Mo Vaughn.

Mo Vaughn fell down dugout steps and was never the same. Ryan Howard was a good hitter but not a great athlete. Neither were in great shape at any point. I dont see any correlation between them and Judge.

Big bodies break down. Thats all I was saying. Comparing him to a guy with 700 home runs is beyond ridiculous.

It's ridiculous if you compare career stats of the greatest player ever to a guy 60 games into his rookie season. But right now, the guy is doing it in a Ruthian way. His size, the larger than life sense of everything he does. Consider:

Judge hit the hardest ball of the season Saturday for a homer. He hit the farthest Sunday. He has the three hardest-hit homers this season and five of the six hardest-hit balls overall. That's Ruthian stuff.

Whether he can keep it up for the next 15 years, who knows but right now, the closest mlb player to Babe Ruth is Aaron Judge.

No the best comp to Ruth is Trout who does everything and has been the best player in MLB since his first full year.

There's Ruth's stats and there's Ruthian exploits. Trout averages 32 homers a year and no one is writing about how far or how hard he hits it. He's not Ruthian but yes, the best player in the game, for now..

Ruthian stuff is hitting as many HRs as an entire team...

It is 1:52 and the Yankee game in Anaheim just ended and guess who hit a dinger to win the game? I have not stayed up this late to watch the Yanks or anyone else in 20 years. I am a kid again with a transistor radio listening to the Mets and Yanks on the west coast. And I love it.

Aaron has been amazing. He is fun to watch. He has a great future but I think as a big guy it will be hard to have a 15 plus year career. I hope he does. The Yankees have some great young guys on the team and in the minors.

Talking about annoying, to me Met fans are the worst. All I've heard is how great their pitchers have been these last few years yet they can't stay healthy too long. Before this season they acted like they were by far the best team in baseball. They play in the weakest of the 6 divisions and they can't even have a .500 record. The Yankees play in the toughest division in baseball and no one expected them to have a great season yet this season has been fun so far. They seem to have a nice future with all their young kids. Met fans just seem envious of the Yankees all the time. Wake me up when they ever win another world series.

Again, Howard had 6 consecutive seasons in the top 10 MVP voting before getting hurt at age 32. If Judge is productive until 32 before declining, that's 8 seasons.

Mets fans are funny. No other team hypes their players like they do. It's been their MO for years, especially the pitchers. Generation K anyone? Gooden and Strawberry? The Yankees have a kid everyone is excited about and Mets fans rush to **** on it. The OP stated clearly the Ruth comparison was not serious and over the top. But the bitterness here is palpable. Hoping or expecting Judge fails to take the sting off so many Mets flameouts. Sad!

I would wake you up, but I think you may be in heaven for decades by the time that happens.

Who are the Mets home grown HOF'ers? I guess Seaver, but those fools traded him.

Yankee fans are funny, every player gets hyped from Kevin Maas to babe ruth Sanchez to herman munster Judge. Hey he has been a nice story but its only 6 weeks. Last year he invented the strikeout, his history gives no indication he will produce at this level. Have fun with it as it wont last. Meanwhile Mets whipped the World Champs for 4th in a row......

Trout is the best comp to Mantle, if Mantle had stayed healthy.

It's way too early to be comparing Judge to Mantle. and the Ruth stuff is laughable. Others here have pointed out Ruth's achievements.....achievements that no one else comes close to. And Mantle was a center fielder with great speed until he tore up his knee.
Lets just enjoy the ride for now. The Yankees have rather quickly gone from an old, boring team with not much of a future to one of the best in MLB. One with lots of young talent up and down their system.
It's a great time to be a Yankees fan.

I am a Yankee fan, and I was comparing TROUT to Mantle, not Judge.

If you are being serious in these posts, they I feel really bad about how stupid you are.

  • Kevin Maas played over 20 years ago....who gives a **** about what fans felt in the early 90s.
  • Gary Sanchez missed over a month due to injury and is still in the Top 3 AL Starting Catchers in HR's, OPS, On Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage and RBIs
  • You made a comparison that Judge and Jay Bruce are having equivalent years even though Judge is leading the American League in every triple crown category
  • You made a statement about Judge's history when you obviously know nothing about his history. At every level he started slow and adapted to a successful level after slow starts.
  • You brag about the Mets beating the Cubs while failing to realize that the Judge led Yankees swept the Cubs.
Bottom line is that you would take guys like Judge and Sanchez on the Mets in a heartbeat........being green with envy is a bad look.

Because Met Fans never get carried away. Oh wait their entire pitching staff was suppose to be the full of 20 game winners yet none of them can start 30 games in a season.
Mets pitchers allowed 1 run a game over last 6. As we get healthy mets will head to playoffs for 3rd yr in a row. Mets have great pitching but injuries have caused a few bumps.
