Judge now leading the League in HRs, RBIs and batting Average.
Switch hitting Hicks in top 10 in Average and top 20 in HRs. As a switch hitter w power He's going to have a great career.
And of course Sanchez looks pretty good too.
Nice corp of young hitters.

Because Met Fans never get carried away. Oh wait their entire pitching staff was suppose to be the full of 20 game winners yet none of them can start 30 games in a season.
I remember my Mets fan friends saying Daniel Murphy is the next Pete Rose. Took him a change of uniforms for that to become partially true ha.

Let me guess you were saying the same thing about Sanchez last year. Dude not even the All Star break yet. Setting yourself up for failure. No Yank, Met or even a Marlin should ever be deemed this 2 1/2 months into a season.

Last year Sanchez hit 1 HR for every 10 AB's. No one expected that to continue. This year it's 1 every 13 AB's. You know who averaged 1 for every 13? Barry Bonds. ARod averaged 1 for every 15. You picked the wrong guy.

The Maas and Spencer comparisons are silly.

Judge was a huge prospect drafted in the first round and made his MLB debut 2 years younger than Spencer.

Maas was a 22nd round pick and an injury call up.

I imagine Judge will have a slump (all players do) and how he bounces back from it will be telling, but to suggest him being an all-star caliber player is a fluke is ridiculous.

To put Aaron Judge's name in the same thought as Babe Ruth is hysterical to say the least... tell me this in 15 years maybe then I would change my sarcasm meter...At this point he's not even Big Boog Powell...

What Judge is doing is insane. He is clearly the real deal.

Either that or he's made a deal with the devil. It may just be a matter of time before the devil collects his debt and takes his soul.

Admittedly, a bit of tongue and cheek hyperbole when I posted it this morning, then the guy goes out and hits the longest home run since they started tracking them, eight years ago and follows it with another. He's hitting .344 and if the season ended today, he's the 2nd triple crown winner in 50 years, a feat, btw, the Babe never accomplished.

Any comparisons to Kein Maas can't be serious. I saw Kevin Maas hit those home runs, this is a whole different deal. Maybe a baseball guy could explain it better but it's about balance and his ability to get his body and bat in the right place and blast the ball, wherever it's pitched, to all fields. We've seen other players do this but no one with this size and strength.

Obviously way to early to anoint him the second coming of the Babe but this is a special, special talent and the best thing about it? He's wearing Pinstripes, Baby!

Outrageous premise for a thread, I know. But this guy has the bat speed, power and ability to stay on the ball, like nothing I've ever seen....ever. Yes, give it some time but jeez, special player in the Bronx and the ceiling is where? He might just be getting started, hence the Ruthian comparison.
he could be

Care to elaborate with actual stats on how Judge and Bruce are having comparable years?

Dumbass mets fan.
Conforto=Judge. Reyes=Jeter. Billy Wagner=Mariano.
Yeah....just like the mets "own NY" now. The jealousy is obvious.

By the time Ruth was the same age as Judge, he had led the league three times in home runs, twice in RBI, twice in runs scored, once in ERA, once in shutouts, and once in complete games pitched. And he had only just gotten to NY.

Lets let the kid be Aaron Judge. Aint' nobody gonna be the next Ruth ever.

Wow fella. No one ever said Reyes=Jeter or Wagner=Mariano. What is dumb is to make sh*t up. Judge right now is very special and I bElieve Conforto may have the ability to be that player too. With that said way to early to tell on both fronts. Let's let them do this for a few years

Sorry, but I've been arguing with mets fans since 1962. And I've heard many of them compare Reyes to Jeter and Wagner to Mariano.
Keith Hernandez to Mattingly was a funny one also.

Trust me "true Met fans" who know anything about baseball would never make those comparisons. Yanks fans very happy wth Judge, Mets fan very happy with Conforto

As a Met fan, I have never heard any serious Met fan ever compare Wagner to Mariano. Mariano is the greatest Closer in history, Wagner was what? You love to make **** up. Reyes to Jeter, yeah, there was talk of that early in Reyes career, no one with any self respect would ever make that comparison now.
Mattingly vs Hernandez...hmmmm, interesting as I would take either on my team any time any day. DM was by far the most dominate hitter for a good handful of years, KH was a completely different type of hitter. But, as good as DM was in the field, KH may have been the best fielding 1B ever. Not many fielders ever had managers have to game plan around them. Think about that.

anyway- let Judge be himself right now. The kid is exciting to watch and has a very real chance to become an absolute great. Let's not go putting the babe's name anywhere near him yet. But damn, have to admit, you hate to ever miss one of his at bats.

I know plenty of serious and knowledgeable Mets fans who not only claimed and tried to support their position that Reyes was better than Jeter, they also believed Ordonez was going to be better.

You can be a knowledgeable sports fan, but emotionally irrational when it comes to your favorite team.

From a technical hitting standpoint Judge does most things very well...Judge possesses the necessary short swing ...great balance...and outstanding bat speed...teams will search hard to find his weakness...if he continues to adjust to those changes he can become one of baseballs premier power hitters...To compare him to the GREATEST Yankee of all time ( Ruth) is unrealistic in many ways...Mantle was my favorite growing up during the 50-60's era...supreme power ...could hit for average...but the Mick had his weaknesses too...a switch hitter no less...We christened Trout the best hitter and next super star only recently...Judge still has a way to go to prove he's better...as far as farthest homers or fastest homers to "leave the lot"...Mantle had many such prodigious pokes...I still remember Mick's shot off the top facade in the old stadium...it was still ascending and estimates ranged that if it had cleared it would have traveled 600+ ft....for me though Harmon Killebrew could give anyone a run in the power department and watching him hit a line drive off the centerfield wall ( the ball did not get off the ground more than 9 feet ) in the old stadium near the monuments was outrageous ...that ball ricocheted all the way back to Bobby Richardson at 2nd base...So for me a 64 year fan of the Yankees I'll wait to see if he is able sustain.

Except Judge has 21 HR not 19 , has 47 RBI and he's hitting 80 points higher than Bruce. His OBP is 100 points higher than Bruce and his slugging % is 200 points higher. Other than that - yeah same type of year.
Crazy Mets Fans!

More stats 335/330
318/314. Left field right field dimensions Citi compared to Yankee Stadium. Yankee stadium friendlier to the hitters. Before panties get all bunch up certainly not debating Judge is special. He definitely is. With that said, he also has a stronger offensive lineup surrounding him. Can't fault Bruce for not driving in more runs. Reyes and Granderson barely have been hitting, let alone get on base

The highest Adam Dunn ever batted in a season is .267. Make sure you know what you're talking about before you post again. [thumb2]
You are aware it is only June. No guarantee what his average is by the END of the season
