In a similar vein (and no pun intended (sorry/not sorry)), public employees and leaders and teachers of young people should be held to a high (and a higher standard) than some random employee or boss in a sweatshop or small business. You are right that private entities can get pressure to "be better" but it seems standards have really slipped all around. We constantly preached to our children (now both adults) to do the right thing, stand up for what is right, speak up when you see something wrong and don't go with the flow.We are in agreement. I should have gone further in explaining why it matters that Tucker is a public employee. There’s going to be a lot of pressure from residents on state and MSU officials to fire him, and they are obligated to respond to it. A private entity can also get a lot of outside pressure but is only obligated to respond to its shareholders.
