I was saying the same thing to my kid on the way home about mosh pits I have seen in the past. Overall though - it is a good thing for a band to keep an eye out like this. Obviously, with bigger venues, that job gets tougher.

Maybe the woman who passed out was knocked out during the circle dance (that was no mosh pit) or she could have been drinking. I am easily twice (maybe 3X) the age of most of the people at that show, and we were fine. but we were towards the back where it was less crowded. We had enough energy to get a drink at the Asbury Hotel, which was rocking after midnight.

There is not a bad sight line in that place. A heck of a lot better than the old "Fast Lane" that extended further East and was very narrow. U2 played at the old Fast Lane and Bon Jovi played there before he formed Bon Jovi. Quite a history. I was impressed with how the band handled the crowd and looked out for the safety of the fans. While the industry is different now, it looks like the Wrecks are going to blow up into a big band. Would not be surprised if they are playing the Stone Pony summer stage next summer.

We are not in for any more shows. Someone in our group got the virus at that show.

Was wondering what you thought of the opening bands. There was a strong contingent of fans squealing for Mothe. I thought Girlhouse was OK, but the piped in background vocals were lame.

Oh man - so sorry to hear. Hope it is mild.

we missed Mothe (hanging out at boardwalk) but we thought Girlhouse was ok.

on another note, I forgot to mention another band we saw recently … Wallows:

New David Lee Roth, recorded in 2020. This music suits DLR's current vocal capabilities. From what I read, seems like this is part of the collaboration with guitarist John 5. Nice song.

Anyone going to PNC to see Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and the Warning? Gotta say very impressed with the sisters in the Warning. Rock is definitely not dead.

The harmonica made me think of The Wizard.
Nice catch. I never realized Ozzy played harmonica on The Wizard.

Interesting lyrics:
DEGRADATION RULES:

Twisted little fantasy
Gambling with tragedy and doom, and doom
Addicted to debauchery
Staring at the ceiling in his room, in his room

Asphyxiation
Masturbation
Degradation rules

Pulling on his memories
He's ready for the pearl to hit the sky, the sky
Used up all his energy
He wakes up with a twinkle in his eye, in his eye

Asphyxiation
Masturbation
Degradation rules
Degradation rules
Join the other fools

Sticky little magazines
He locks the door and goes into his mind, in his mind
Stuck inside a dirty dream
The hand that feeds you also turns you blind, turns you blind

Asphyxiation
Masturbation
Degradation rules
Degradation rules
Beating on your jewels

Asphyxiation
Masturbation
Degradation rules
Degradation rules
Masturbating fools
Watching RedTube rules

(Hahahahaha, hahahahahaha)

Ooh, I've come...

I prefer my lyrics more profound or subtle, but Ozzy continues to make good music.

Not sure if I posted this already. Guided By Voices, Alex Bell. Reminds me a bit of Smithereens with the jangly guitars.

One of my favorite live, touring bands today is The Tedeschi Trucks Band. They have released the first album of a new 4 album set “I am the Moon”. This Is the most ambitious project in the band’s 12 year history. They will release the albums separately over the next several months with accompaning short films.. The concept for this project is a reimagining of the 12th century Persian poem “Layla and Majnun”. This poem was the inspiration for the Derek and Dominos classic “Layla”. They are a working, touring band and came up with this idea during the Pandemic shutdown. Below are a 3 of the 5 songs released on the first album entitled “Crescent”, including a beautiful 12 minute instrumental “Pasaquan”:

Wanted to follow up with the 3rd album of this 4 album project. This in the thematic concept is called “ The Fall”, I‘m really enjoying this segmented release and the whole 4 albums this summer. Here are 2 songs off this album and they are terrific. ”Gravity” reminds me of an updated and fresh take on the sound of the band “ Little Feat” , a band I absolutely loved back in the 1970s.

I've been remarkably delighted by the new RHCP album this summer. The lead single Black Summer is possibly one of the worst songs on the album. Front to back it's a solid listen, pretty much sounding nothing like anything you;d hear on modern or alt rock stations. Actually mulling going to see them this month for the first time in 20 years

Would love to see them again. Strokes are opening. Cheapest seats are 300 level for over $200/ticket. Lower levels are $300/ticket. No thanks.
Saw them at PNC years ago with Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters. Fantastic show.

And not a fan of The Strokes either. Also, setlists rarely seem to include any material from Mother's Milk, my favorite RHCP album. And the only tun they have played is Nobody Weird Like Me, which is great, but would want more of Mother's Milk. To me, that is their Born To Run. Also very little from Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

Will have to check out the new album. That first song was a snoozer.
