New Corrosion of Conformity. Some dudes mellow out as they age. COC goes harder. Interesting notes on upcoming album.

@RUGuitarMan1 - don't write them off. COC has two sides. Not quite hearing Neil Young in the first single.

Pepper Keenan and Woody Weatherman reportedly “hunkered down” at Keenan’s home in Mississippi to listen to a diverse run of faves like Discharge, ZZ Top, Motörhead, Neil Young and Black Sabbath.

Each album is its own tiny universe and has its own identity. Good God leans toward the heavier/pissed end of the spectrum. Baad Man is more on the throwdown rock scope.

This one is a scorcher.

Far be it from me to write off a rock band 😀. We will see what the album sounds like when released.

Love Dinosaur Jr - unfortunately I was very late to them. Very good song.
One of my favorite bands. Especially like Out There and What Else Is New off of '93s album Where You Been, Alone off of '97s Hand It Over, and Thumb off of '91s Green Mind.

Also one of my favorites is on J Mascis and The Fog's More Light album from 2000...tune called Ammaring.
Killer guitar work ... as usual with him.

I recently bumped into a YouTube video of Mascis doing a live performance with Warren Haynes of my favorite all-time tune...Neil Young's Cortez the Killer. Absolute heaven for me.

My friend sent me this one recently. I think it’s pretty new. To me it’s an unlistenable, discordant mess. But someone here may like it. Lol

Let me know what you think:

Second track off the upcoming COC album released today:

The top half of the five-and-a-half-minute stomp is full of seismic tom hits, swamp-caked chugs and psych-fried noodling, while Pepper Keenan’s waxes philosophical of a “madness” on the rise. A press release notes the “Sabbed-out track is an angry acid trip into the origins of the human condition since the dawn of man,” and that “in these primitive times, it’s clear to say they haven’t learned much.”

The tune also vortexes into a gloomily ambient mid-section, before blasting off towards a metal-heavy, do-or-die finale (“The dagger sets us free / It's either you or me”).

i will tell you what..todays alternative music is complete garbage, it all sounds the same, its all variations of music that already came out 5-7 years go..simply awful what happened to music in all genres actually
The only thing that matters is how many followers you have, as my music buddies have made abundantly clear.

Hitting Coachella in a few weeks. More bands this year than recent memory. I’ll see if I find anything interesting.

Legendary Carmine Apice and Cactus from the upcoming Temple of Blues album. Dee Snider on vocals and and Tracii Guns on guitar. Any blues is good blues:

Back Door Man with Billy Sheehan on bass:

The Tedeschi Trucks Band’s new album “Future Soul” is out today. This is the title track which is recorded live from the Beacon Theater. I’ve been listening to and watching Mr Trucks play for over 25 years, first time I’ve seen him play a Gibson Flying V guitar. He has exclusively played a Gibson SG and I’ve seen him play a Les Paul a few times. He must be on an Albert King listening binge:

Love the band and her voice. I don't think I've seen him play anything other and than an SG. Interesting.
