A few mellower songs I’ve been digging here this winter.
Interesting version of the old Jackson Browne tune “These Days”. I always liked Gregg Allman’s version of that song:

Second Rival Sons single from upcoming album:
I'm trying to determine who the leader singer sounds like (to me). An excellent group with a very classic rock sound. Right down the middle. Not too hard, not too soft.I really like Rival Sons , one of my favorite heavier rock bands of the last 10 years. I think the vocalist Buchanan is very good.
Best thing I've seen on the internet in a long time. Priceless. Hope it pastes properly as FB pages often don't. If it doesn't, it's a video of some first graders singing the Ramones song, Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, from the Chapel Atherton Primary School (from 1/11/23); the teacher is strumming acoustic guitar on it.
Nope, it didn't paste, oh well - look it up if you want to smile...
Another take- Doomscroller by Metric
I actually like the Architects song better. It has a more positive, less polarizing message. I had not realized Architects have been around since 2004.i actually really like this. appreciate the link.
in a sense, yes, being on this board is kinda doomscroll-ey. especially post-game.I actually like the Architects song better. It has a more positive, less polarizing message. I had not realized Architects have been around since 2004.
Maybe I am missing the point of the lyrics, but I take the lyrics as to get offline and enjoy the real world "Come see the world as it ought to be."
But maybe they are talking to us on this board? Is spending time on a Rutgers Football board in the fall doomscrolling?
Architects:
No betting on tomorrow
But we all love a tragedy
Come drown in our sorrow
And see the world as it oughta be
Delete another day doomscrolling
Sat beneath my shadow, keep loading
Nothing here is hallowed, oh
Come see the world as it oughta be
Delete another day
This path is growing kinda narrow
With rotten roses all the way
No guarantees it'll carry me
Nobody ordered me to swallow
I wanna know, are we the bow or the arrow?
Go take a dive where the waters are shallow
We can swim the undertow
Swim the undertow, swim the undertow
No betting on tomorrow
But we all love a tragedy
Come drown in our sorrow
And see the world as it ought to be
Delete another day doomscrolling
Sat beneath my shadow, keep loading
Nothing here is hallowed, oh
Come see the world as it ought to be
Delete another day
We saw the flaw right from the get-go
Who knew the hell we had to pay?
We like to please 'cause we're devotees
Hopefully God is at the gallows
I wanna know, are we the bow or the arrow?
Go take a dive where the waters are shallow
We can swim the undertow
Swim the undertow, swim the undertow
No betting on tomorrow
But we all love a tragedy
Come drown in our sorrow
And see the world as it ought to be
Delete another day doomscrolling
Sat beneath my shadow, keep loading
Nothing here is hallowed, oh
Come see the world as it ought to be
Delete another day
God, save our souls
Let's take the flame and hold it closer to the fuse
We're well aware that we've got everything to lose
We're singing, "We don't wanna know
We don't wanna know, we don't wanna know"
We kick the habit, then we let the fire loose
It doesn't matter when there's water at the roots
We're singing, "We don't wanna know
We don't wanna know, we don't wanna know"
Let's take the flame and hold it closer to the fuse
We're well aware that we've got everything to lose
We're singing, "We don't wanna know
We don't wanna know, we don't wanna know"
God, save our souls

Metric:
"On "Doomscroller," Haines’s lyrics evoke a struggle between the underclass and the ruling class. Name-checking the idiotic QAnon conspiracy theory imparts a current vibe, but the song doesn’t seem stuck in any particular moment in time. She says the song, both lyrically and musically, tackles the concept of addressing pain — not by ignoring it, but by magnifying it. It establishes the overall point of the record, as well as what Metric has always tried to do with its music. It took a great deal of self-confidence to keep going, even as the members began to worry that the song was too long."

Inner echo reflecting solace revived
Whatever you do, either way we're gonna love you
Never mattered, either way we're gonna love you
Whatever you do, either way we're gonna love you
Never mattered, how many or how much more you've been through
Take this for the heartache
Not some cure to negate it
More like a magnification mirror, full-size
Inner reverberation happens outside
Whatever you do, either way we're gonna love you
Never mattered, either way we're gonna love you
Whatever you do, either way we're gonna love you
Never mattered, how many or how much more you've been through
Come back to yourself from the battle

Did not realize it had been 3 years since last Overkill release. From their upcoming album to be released on April 14. @RU_DIO
Overkill will release their twentieth studio album, Scorched, on April 14th through Nuclear Blast Records. The official the visualizer for the LP’s first single, The Surgeon, can be seen below.
Singer Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth comments, “Man, it seems like for F-in ever since we chatted. Ha! I tell you what, this is the longest ever between Overkill releases, Feb ’19 to April ’23. For me, it became my ‘peterpandemic’ go-to. I wrote my part, tore it down, then again and again. I found myself still changing parts while Colin [Richardson] was mixing. It became the normal in a very abnormal time, sanity amongst the insanity. Somewhere in Scorched that is all reflected, a common thread, it is the place I went to get what I needed, maybe what ‘we’ needed. It’s different, that’s for sure an old-school approach/mix in a modern world….was it worth the wait? You tell me…….see ya on the road! Horns up.”
Scorched track listing:
1. Scorched
2. Goin’ Home
3. The Surgeon
4. Twist Of The Wick
5. Wicked Place
6. Won’t Be Comin Back
7. Fever
8. Harder They Fall
9. Know Her Name
10. Bag O’ Bones
Lenny of Lenny and Squiggy? (I know who you meant!).I found this list interesting.
Looks like Lenny is back from the dead bringing a bottle of Jack Daniel's for everyone and dropped a new song with Motorhead.

Not a Lamb of God fan. I will be happy with Pantera at night 1 of Metallica.Oops.
Btw, Pantera and Lamb of God in Camden in August.
Oops.
Btw, Pantera and Lamb of God in Camden in August.
A one day ticket w/ all those bands is cheaper than what I paid for one night with John Mayer..
