Will be seeing Noel sharing the bill with Garbage at the Mann Center down in Philly with Metric the opening act
To think how big Oasis was for that short time period after grunge was waning and before nu Metal/boy bands ruined everything. His stuff over the year is solid. Very rare for an older artist to not put something out that sounds totally dated to the previous time period.. He should have had more success

This is another new one from this same recent release...now this is actually one that sounds exactly like its the mid 90s...just as a good as any other song they did. Suddenly Im bac at the rac rooting for Geoff Billet and Rob Hodgson

I posted a song or two from Arlo about a year ago, iirc, in this thread from her first album. She's near the top of the list of artists I want to see - great voice and some great vibes in her songs.
Not sure if this has been posted, but here's the latest from Brooklyn's Rubblebucket, who have been around for 15 years with some interesting/funky indie tunes, some infused with reggae or worldbeat. Really like this new song by them.
New Pornographers, the Canadian indie/rock/pop band who have been all over the map through the years, have a new album out soon, but here's one of my favorites from a couple of years ago. These guys ooze musicality, IMO. Cool video too.
And here's one a little out of left field, The High Cost of Living (ain't nothin' like the cost of livin' high) by Jamey Johnson. Heard it the other day on the Outlaw Country station and I thought it was a rough and brilliant take on addiction by a guy who had been through it. It's from 2009, but it's new to me, so here you go.

Saw Brian Dunne open for Lissie in a little church in Montclair a couple years ago. Outpost in the Burbs I think it was called.
Phenomenal talent. I got to talk to him in the lobby for a good while as he was peddling his albums. I have his entire catalog up to Selling Things signed. Hopefully one day he breaks out. In the past he'd be as sure a thing as you could get but this generation of popular radio doesn't understand real talent. He's also a member of a 'Super Group' called Fantastic Cats.
Funny these guys are mentioned in the next post. I saw them open for The Struts at The Pony awhile back. Good band with really catchy tunes but the singer does this thing with his voice every other line of every single song that grates on me for some reason and once you hear it you can't unhear it and wind up listening for it. If you go to see them pay attention to the keyboard player. He's a scene stealer on stage as well as the videos. He gets into it.
Saw The Winery Dogs last night in Glenside, Pa. Here are two new songs plus two older songs in a performance from a few days ago. Nice to see a band playing live with no backing tracks/vocals. All three are virtuosos. Watching Billy Sheehan play the bass is mesmerizing. Fantastic show.

Was going through the thread and saw Lissie was mentioned a few pages back as well as by me up on this page. She's an incredible singer. Absolutely fell in love with her first two albums ('Catching a Tiger' and 'Back To Forever') and my family and I actually got to know her a little bit after seeing her in a very impromptu gig in Kenilworth of all places. She showed up at 10th Street Live one night to break in a touring band she had hired from the area. After the show she came out into the audience of about 20 people and just hung out and got absolutely wrecked with us singing karaoke all night. She had just bought the farm she now lives on in Iowa and at one point got into a very intense discussion with this guy who is good friends with my sons about the best way to slaughter chickens (he is from a rural part of Puerto Rico and has strong opinions on the subject). A very fun and exceptionally talented woman. I think she's cleaned up her act in the last several years and only plays Philly or NYC if she hits the East Coast at all. She's actually really, really big in Scandanavia so she plays there frequently.

One of my all time favorite artists whose career went off the edge of a cliff after his horrific video featuring him dancing in a bedroom wearing a pink tank top tanked his career. He made enough money from his 1980s output and rap sampling The Strok and The Big Beat, one of the most sampled drum breaks.
Anyway, a new Billy Squier song was released yesterday. Billy is 72, so it is not has hard rocking as his old material, but a solid effort for his first new recording in 25 years. Back story of song in link below.
