All because you played Vogel fat instead

He should’ve been up 4 to 8 weeks earlier and with 120-150 extra at bats he wouldn’t be playing now
The fans should sue Eppler because he's the reason behind all this. Our starting 2nd baseman wouldn't be playing winter ball had the Mets moved on from Vogelbach sooner.

Not sure we can blame Vogelbach as I'm pretty sure those at bats would have gone to Vientos/Baty not Mauricio.

He most likely would still be playing even if he came up earlier.
True. The young guys still play winter ball, whether it’s in the DR or Arizona. Bottom line is that you can’t wring your hands about when and where a player gets hurt. You can get hurt working out on your own in the offseason. The Mets have just been very unlucky these past two years.

Yup, Diaz and now Mauricio, but at least with Mauricio it didn't happen weeks before the start of the season. Either way, the Mets seem snake bit.

yeah- he has made a whole bunch of just ehhh moves- seems like it is all going to hinge on Yamamoto - not what we are used to with Cohen
Again, been here a month at most. He has to fill out a 40 man roster and have players at triple A. You never said what he should have done?

Hopefully Mets sign Justin Turner. 1 year deal may be possible. Feel bad for Mauricio. Why bother with this winter baseball nonsense ?

Reports out that Mets are linked to Snell if they miss out on Yamamoto
I'd assume as such with the Mets and I'd also assume that the other teams linked to Yamamoto who don't sign him will also be linked to Snell as a backup plan.

I'm a much bigger fan of Yamamoto however as I'm sure every other team is as well.

And if we fail on Yamamoto and Snell, I guess it's Jordan Montgomery who looks like he's been enjoying the buffets as of late and/or Gioloto.

LOL. When you said Montgomery was visiting the buffet table and/or Gioloto, I thought you meant to say gelato. I forgot about the pitcher.

If we fail on Yamamoto- Snell/Montgomary would ease the pain

I'm not sure it will ease the pain. We have been circling Yamamoto for some time. Not to sign him will feel like a setup. Think of Charlie Brown always trying to kick the football and failing. Snell and Montgomery are good pitchers, but our hearts are set for Yamamoto. Perception is big in this case.

LAD working on a Glasnow trade. Not sure that indicates anything in regards to Yamamoto.

Agree- and this is my point of where I think some are already getting a bit impatient with the new GM...(perception)

So Max to miss 1/2 next season. Since the Mets are paying his salary next season,do they get to collect the injury insurance? That would be even better dumping that bum and collecting the talent.

Lindor named second team all-MLB shortstop for 2023. Behind only Corey Seager, who has an insane season.

Upon seeing this, I was very surprised at first. Then I realized I shouldn't be.
yeah- 30/30 with his glove- dude is actually under appreciated.
back to back outstanding years for Lindor. It is also why we need to get Alonso signed long term- need to have a decade of two HOF playing together on this team

Lindor a HOF for sure I think. Pete has to hit 500 HR's or zero chance for HOF.

in less than 4 1/2 years - the guy has 192 HR and 498 RBI
he could get there in the next 8 years.
and playing 1B and eventually DH- I would expect he isn't going to tax the body all too much

Last night, Dec.16th. Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto reportedly met with a contingent of Mets officials including owner Steve Cohen, president of baseball operations David Stearns, manager Carlos Mendoza, and pitching coach Jeremy Hefner at Cohen’s home Saturday night, according to a report from Joel Sherman of the New York Post. It’s the second known meeting between the Mets and Yamamoto this offseason following Cohen’s trip to Japan earlier this month. SNY’s Andy Martino reports that Yamamoto will also hold a second meeting with the Yankees while he’s in New York.

As Joe Beningo ranted on Saturday , Stearns’ acquisitions to date are very Milwaukee Brewers-ish

We need a a front line SP / another SP and bats - a la Justin Turner and or JD Martinez.

Beningo had Jon Heyman on his show Saturday and one thing to be aware of that Heyman said is that he thinks Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery are desiring the west coast.

Thus if we miss out on Yamamoto- the drop off in SP is drastic given the possible destinations for Snell and Montgomery

The day that I care about anything that Joe Benigno has to say, is the day that... well, I'm not sure what day it is. But it sure ain't today.
