Lol Trevor Bauer interested in Mets.
Why lol ? I’d take him. We need an ace. We don’t have a pitcher at top of rotation.
Don’t expect it to occur or even considered or even discussed on Seaver Way however.
To the best of my knowledge- weren’t all charges dropped?
Bauer is trying to reestablish his credibility

Lol because of all of the jabber from him last time he was a free agent using the Mets to get the Dodgers contract
Fair enough but we need a front line starter. Just like Severino and Bader , I’m sure we can sign Bauer to a 1-2 year deal and continue with the “ low risk / high reward” strategy.

Ok- so….this girl tgat he got in trouble with. We find out- details didn’t change much about him but she was ok with it to set his sorry disgusting *** up.
He just wants girls that are ok with all the sick ****…
And let’s say none of that happened- not sure he was worth it before it all came out and then he was a complete dick…
F- him

People change. Sometimes you need a kick in the *** to realize it which hopefully occurred with Bauer.

Ok- “with consent” he likes to beat and choke women
50 shades or not…- just not a good person.
Baseball- I didn’t want him in 2021 for so many reasons. Now, if Dodgers are picking up almost all of it.,.I would do it…but, that is just baseball speak and not him as a person

Bauer is a free agent. The Dodgers released him at the start of 2023, and paid off the final year of his contract. They have no further liability.

He played in Japan last year.

Sean Maneaa - ugh.

He had tons of potential with Oakland and then his career went south and his belly expanded west.

Senga. - Quintana - Severino - Maneaa - Houser.

Manead added a sweeper and velocity and if you look at his numbers since then he was very very good. If we're getting that SP this will look like a steal of a deal.

One other thought - with the signing of Bader, the 40-man is now at its limit of 40. So the Manaea signing, plus any which follow, must result in trying to get somebody through waivers.

The 2023 deadwood has pretty much all been purged from the 40 man. We would need to drop on of the many 2024 under the radar guys whom we're taking a flyer on.

There's still a lot of dead weight then can remove. With that Castillo pick up they can start with Zack Short.

You guys with Cohen is Wilpon are funny.
It could be one of the dumbest comparisons ever. Remind me when the Wilpons had the #1 payroll in baseball by far? Yes it wasn't spent well but the desire to win is in another stratosphere compared to them.

While I don't know that the Wilpon Mets were ever #1 in spending, they were consistently up there until the Madoff house of cards collapsed. They just weren't very good at it. Remember The Worst Team Money Could Buy? And Omar's spending sprees, when he put the Minaya in Maniacal?

Yes and they were still not #1. And that's not including the luxury tax money bill. It's an awful comparison.

Yes, but he also started less often last year and threw fewer innings as he wafted between the bullpen and a starting role. Fewer innings and shorter looks can contribute to velocity and the success of a new pitch like a sweeper.

That said, I like Stearns, and we didn’t hire him so that he could simply put into effect the moves already written about in thousands of amateur articles and blogs that pass for press these days.

Stearns’s success will ultimately hinge on whether he can fix/upgrade the Mets system while making smart maneuvers to bolster the roster, and not whether he can outbid other teams for hot or established players. He may do some of the latter, but to succeed he must absolutely do the former.

Welp, when I played…our 1 or 2 against your 4th or 5th.
We win
I agree but in these days- even most 1 and 2’s are only going 6 innings. Evens it up a little.
In your day- 1/2’s we’re going 8-15 innings…4/5’s could only get you to 6.
In today’s game- you see a guy go 6 innings and it was a good start if he only gave up 3-4 runs. lol

Bader is as good a centerfielder as there is. But he can't hit enough or stay healthy.
The trade for him by the Yankees might be one of the dumbest they've ever made though.
i'm gonna have trouble rooting against the guy now that he's a Met.
Or when Severino is pitching.

The Mets also just signed, ok, not sure where I am going with this but when the F did we really become small market.
I get it and long run, maybe better for Stearns career- but he will lose this fan base faster than anyone in history if this continues and we trade or lose Alonso.
