Yep, that was actually a 10-0 homestand.Heard on WFAN the previous 7-0 homestand was 2015 - last World Series year.
Got to love it.The sweep will be the first thing I mention in tomorrow morning’s meeting to all the Philly fans I work with
I moved to Delaware…All Eagles and Phillies fans. More smack about the Eagles since we became their Daddy in last year’s NL playoffs…but so nice. The sweep will be the first thing I mention in tomorrow morning’s meeting to all the Philly fans I work with
Hip cramping. No one sounded concerned after game. What happened to Diaz?
Hope it’s nothing serious!
I was wrong about the Cyclones, they are back here in late May too.Maybe.
Will check in with my Son.
BlueClaws do it nice, they give you the Cyclones roster when asked, so you can see who’s who.
FYI… for local Met fans this is the only appearance of the Cyclones down here for the whole season.
For those a little north and closer to Rutgers, AA Binghamton is only in Somerset in early August.
Doubles are my favorite. This is really just a fun team. BTW- Baty crushed that HR...And who would have thought that Pete would be leading MLB in doubles?
First time I think I ever heard of a hip cramp. Lol.Hip cramping. No one sounded concerned after game.
That's what everyone has been saying! He also had an issue where one leg was longer than the other that they had to fix. I'm sure it was all related.First time I think I ever heard of a hip cramp. Lol.
and we've got Alvarez, McNeil and Mauricio (who's been crushing it in the minors) coming back in the next few days to weeks12-1 start at home. Very nice.
Two fairly prominent prospects who are not on the list are Kevin Parada and Alex Ramirez. Both are currently at AA Binghamton.Really starting to get excited by Wenninger's performance. He's been great going back to second half of last year. I added Joel Diaz to HM. He was a top prospect to watch who was always very young for the league he was in and eventually had TJ in 2023. He didn't pitch well last year coming back from surgery but so far this year he has hasn't allowed a run. He's up to 15 2/3 scoreless with an 18/2 K/BB ratio.
Clifford's HR yesterday was 440 feet. Brooklyn bats have gone ice cold.

To me, Ramirez has always been an empty suit. He's never produced, and the few times I've seen him hit he hasn't even looked good hitting, much less been good at it.Two fairly prominent prospects who are not on the list are Kevin Parada and Alex Ramirez. Both are currently at AA Binghamton.
Parada is a "good news, bad news" situation. The good news: he is hitting .357! The bad news: that's not his batting average, it's his OPS.
Ramirez isn't doing much better with an OPS of .434.
Can't get them all right.
Mauricio is intriguing to me. He's got a lot of pop. I wouldn't broadly say that he's been crushing it in the majors. For several years, the hype was much more than the production. But his last full year in AAA (2023) was very good. And he's become a big guy. He's definitely got my attention.and we've got Alvarez, McNeil and Mauricio (who's been crushing it in the minors) coming back in the next few days to weeks

Ramirez has already been. He cleared waivers and was brought back as a non-roster player. They should both have been released by now.
He's not playing in real games yet. That is all extended spring stuff so mostly playing with teenagers.I was referring to after his injury, he's had a very hot start in the minors this year, hitting .583 through Apr 22
Baro at SS has a gun.A lot of interesting bats and arms so have a good time if you do!
Spoke to soon.Baro at SS has a gun.
Serrano playing well too.
Zach Thornton, pitching tonight looks good. Only 3 hits after 4. No runs. Mid 90s.
HR. Deep right. Mid 8th.Baro at SS has a gun.

Hell I would start Pham in the OF over Kelenic. As an off-day fun activity, I put together an alternate universe 26 man roster consisting solely of former Mets and Met farmhands. (I will refer to them as the "Nyets".) The lineup and bench is weak, the bullpen is meh, but what a KILLER starting rotation!
Here goes - your 2025 New York Nyets!
STARTING ROTATION A (5)
Zack Wheeler - Phillies
Seth Lugo - Royals
Jacob deGrom - Rangers
Chris Bassitt - Blue Jays
Luis Severino - Athletics
That group of five would be the best starting rotation in all of MLB!
Concerned about depth? Here's a B-List starting rotation that would at least be MLB-competitive:
STARTING ROTATION B (5)
Taijuan Walker - Phillies
MIchael Wacha - Royals
Justin Verlander - Giants
Jose Quintana - Brewers
Steven Matz - Cardinals
Still concerned about depth? Here's a decent C-list rotation, although now we're dipping into the IL.
STARTING ROTATION C (5)
J.T.. Ginn (Athletics)
Simeon Woods-Richardson (Twins)
Max Scherzer (Blue Jays IL)
Marcus Stroman (Yankees IL)
Carlos Carrasco (Yankees)
Yeah, Carlos Carrasco is starting games for the Yankees. Good enough for the Yankees, good enough for the Nyets C list. On to the bullpen.
RELIEF PITCHERS (8)
Trevor Williams (Nationals)
Paul Sewald (Guardians)
Anthony Banda (Dodgers)
T,J. McFarlane (Athletics)
Justin Wilson (Red Sox)
Jorge Lopez (Nationals)
Phil Maton (Cardinals)
Rafael Montero (Braves)
The Nyets bullpen has Sewald as its closer and Williams as long man. Banda and McFarlane are tough lefties who rebounded well from their brief Met tenures. Lopez is not bad, glove throwing tantrums to the contrary.
STARTING LINEUP (8)
Wilmer Flores (Giants) 1B
Andres Gimenez (Blue Jays) 2B
Amed Rosario (Nationals) SS
Jose Iglesias (Padres) 3B
Jarred Kelenic (Braves) LF
Pete Crow-Armstrong (Cubs) CF
MIchael Conforto (Dodgers) RF
Travis d'Arnaud (Angels) C
BENCH, INCLUDING DH (5)
Tomas Nido (TIgers)
Harrison Bader (Twins)
Kevin Pillar (Rangers)
Javier Baez (Tigers)
Justin Turner (Cubs)
There are a lot of weaknesses with this Nyets team. One of which is the absence of a SS. I put Rosario there although he hasn't played there in a while. We will curse the name of Pete Crow-Armstrong for the next decade. But then, I thought the same thing about Jarred Kelenic, so who knows. Justin Turner got the last spot on my bench over Tommy Pham and JD Davis. I really wanted to find a spot for Jake Mangum. Maybe next year.
But man, that starting pitching!

But man, that starting pitching!
Too bad Baty got off to such a slow start although you wonder if the decision would have been different anyway. He probably rehabbed his value a bit with a stronger last couple of weeks at the plate and by showing the versatility to play multiple positions. You have to wonder if he is a part of the future for the Mets or more likely included in a trade deadline deal.Baty and Senger sent down
