He was holding the runner on third close. You see that more and more in situations where you are trying to cut off the run.Why was Vientos playing so close to the line with a left handed batter up?
Good countingCounting on the last place Pirates.
Interesting thing- and I think it ties in to the way we pitch - I forget what team it was but there was a series where Tong was having his 2nd start- I think they took the first 20 pitches or something like that and it threw him totally off- they did the same thing with Sproat the next game and he pitched through it for a good game. Maybe it is as simple that the league has figured it out and you sit on a pitch over the plate and everything else will be just off the plate.Really odd.
Don't mean to pick at nits, but we don't have the best hitting SS in the league. That would be Geraldo Perdomo.Interesting thing- and I think it ties in to the way we pitch - I forget what team it was but there was a series where Tong was having his 2nd start- I think they took the first 20 pitches or something like that and it threw him totally off- they did the same thing with Sproat the next game and he pitched through it for a good game. BTW - A team who has the best hitting 1B/SS/OF in the league should never be in this position.
And random thought- I wonder what the best team steal % is for any team with over 100 stolen base attempts. We have stolen 142 out of 160 attempts. That is a crazy success rate
Don't know. McLean is pitching in the game, which I would think is more important.Who is pitching, or recently, throwing live BP tonight?
My sarcasm was not clear. Obviously I don’t care about BP.Don't know. McLean is pitching in the game, which I would think is more important.
It is really close- but at worst or best- they may be dead even. Perdomo leads him in RBI and BA...Lindor leads in Runs, HR, SB - this is also the first time Perdomo has even come close to these kind of numbers which are not much better(IF) than what Lindor averages every single year. I do agree that this season is a head scratcher.
And this is why Mets should dump Lindor (sarcasm).Don't mean to pick at nits, but we don't have the best hitting SS in the league. That would be Geraldo Perdomo.

Oh your sarcasm was clear, I responded in kind.My sarcasm was not clear. Obviously I don’t care about BP.
Speaking of McLean- the start to his pitching career is equal to or better than Skenes- is it tge L Dunne factor or just because he was the number 1 pick why it isn’t getting the same attention. Same with the tall skinny kid who made the AS game after 4 starts.Oh your sarcasm was clear, I responded in kind.
Assuming that Stearns/Cohen want to keep Diaz, as I believe they do, I am quite confident that they will. Adding two guaranteed years to the contract, perhaps preceded by an opt out, should do it. Maybe all it will take would be to guarantee 2028, which is currently club option.Speaking of McLean- the start to his pitching career is equal to or better than Skenes- is it tge L Dunne factor or just because he was the number 1 pick why it isn’t getting the same attention. Seems like national media just hasn’t picked up on McLean.
And he needs the best game of his life today…
pitching- just like Alonso, we need to make sure we keep Diaz..,
Alvarez out with cramps , not DH’ing
Hooefully Mark comes thru
