Good to hear !

Was at Mets game today and didn’t know what happened to Vientos !

Went online and saw groin discomfort and figured he hurt himself with that terrific catch !

So great to see sell out crowds and the fans so into this team !

Waiting for Juan Soto to have his signature homer which will be soon !

If I am Pete- I would not sign an extension today but if I am the Met's- I offer him 5/170 today.

guy has not lost it and he is showing that he really is a duo captain and can carry a team. Dude comes to play every day and you never see him even take a pitch off... Yeah- could wait until the end of the season, but why?

Incentive. Not basing multi-year decisions on 20 games. Being sure this isn't a hot streak that ends. Not forgetting his performance last year. Boras is his agent. We have the money to sign him if he keeps this up. Not clear how many other suitors there will be. Other stuff.

Worst year of his career with 34 HR and almost 100 rbi and came up big in the playoffs.
That is a career year for some of these superstars

Injury update on Alvarez and McNeil. Both have been playing at Binghamton. Both will report to Citi Field on Monday for medical re-examinations. (All minor leagues are always off on Monday.) They are both then expected to return to their minor league teams, possibly Syracuse, to get in a few more swings before returning to the Mets.

I would say Friday in Washington at the earliest.

If he didn't sign an extension last year, I doubt his mindset changed enough to change it now. It's an ego driven game and players want what they want.

Seems to be the new norm for Boras clients. Trying to remember- did the other guys, previous year, do extensions during their 1 year deals or did they go back on the open market.

Pete actually loves playing here and I do think he would prefer to be a lifelong Met. And he does not seem the type of player that is going to slack off after a big contract. Agree that we would not want to over pay on a bad contract but Soto/Lindor/Alonso is a show that is finally packing Citi Field. Pete is worth every penny on and off the field. As an investment, this would just make sense.

Mets have a lot of other interesting arms not in the top 30 that are pitching well so eventually I'll start to include them after a little bit more of a sample. I don't know if Jett got hurt again but he didn't play at all this weekend.

I'm not sure what the majority of the Boras clients end up doing. I would be curious to see what the overall success rates of the holdout actually is. For every success story, you get at least one Jordan Montgomery situation.

I'm glad that Alonso stayed with the Mets because I'm a fan of the old school player who plays his entire career with one team. He also seems like a good guy who was just trying to maximize his value. I'm glad he didn't get shut out ultimately. He was just asking for too much. A 3-4 year deal that reached 100 million would have been more than enough.
