If Alonso is raking is the guy behind him raping the Mets?765 million just doesn’t buy what it used to.
The last couple of days, I've been watching and thinking, "now, he's raking." It's largely a result of his better approach at the plate, which has so far kept him out of the bad habit of reaching for balls low and away and over-eagerly swinging under high fastballs whenever he actually gets one. But, regardless, he's locked in. The trick now is not to lose his disciplined approach.I am thinking that we make be able to safely say that Alonso is "Raking" - 2nd in MLB in total XBHs .365 BA tied with Judge for RBI...
In regard to Pete- amazing he is on a pace for less than 100 Ks…The last couple of days, I've been watching and thinking, "now, he's raking." By the way, Soto didn't run hard the whole way down to first on the bang-bang double play in the fifth.
Early though. In regard to Pete- amazing he is on a pace for less than 100 Ks…
As bad of a walk year as he could have had last year…maybe we should have locked him in for a few more years
I always look at it differently. Pete has most likely been on a 120+ K rate at every point of his career. And while he has had better HR streaks- I am not sure if he has ever had a length of time of being this good of a hitter.Early though.
Please tell me you're being sarcastic.765 million just doesn’t buy what it used to.
Not sarcastic at all. 765 million doesn't buy what it used to. For instance, just 50 years ago (actually 52), 765 million would have bought 76.5 New York Yankee franchises.765 million just doesn’t buy what it used to.
Please tell me you're being sarcastic.
I'm sure it's a joke. However, the early returns and his recent interview haven't been the most promising signs. Please tell me you're being sarcastic.
That would mean something if there weren't 6 years of performance to look at versus 18 games.. . . the early returns and his recent interview haven't been the most promising signs.
Don't want to pile on, but have noticed him not running hard down the line on several occasions. I hadn't heard the radio team comments, but I definitely saw Soto slow down and then speed up on the double play ball that he hit with the bases loaded in the 5th yesterday. It was a bang-bang play at first and, if he was safe, would have meant a run.Don't want to pile on, but have noticed him not running hard down the line on several occasions. His recent interview was a big nothing and we're not even into May yet.I'm sure it's a joke. However, the early returns and his recent interview haven't been the most promising signs.
Sounds like he really misses Captain Judge. His recent interview was a big nothing and we're not even into May yet.
Not really troll.Sounds like he really misses Captain Judge.
Somebody's definitely missing someone here.Sounds like he really misses Captain Judge.
+1Somebody's definitely missing someone here.
If past is prologue, he won't learn.+1
But he shouldn't be so public about it. He will learn.
Don't you mean Aaron MisJudged?Sounds like he really misses Captain Judge.
I'm pretty sure Yankee fans are willing to put up with an occasional fielding issue from Judge given what he means to the team.Don't you mean Aaron MisJudged?![]()
No Mr. Youngman, I will not take your wife!I'm pretty sure Yankee fans are willing to put up with an occasional fielding issue from Judge given what he means to the team.
They would even put up with dropping that easy fly ball if he could hit in Oct...I'm pretty sure Yankee fans are willing to put up with an occasional fielding issue from Judge given what he means to the team.
Question - At this point in time, who would you rather have on their current contract? Judge or Soto? The guy producing on the reasonable salary and contract length or the guy off to the slow start making twice as much a season for twice the length of contract? They would even put up with dropping that easy fly ball if he could hit in Oct...
Or I could have both and still not win a WS heheheQuestion - At this point in time, who would you rather have on their current contract? Judge or Soto? So true, they embarrassed the AL in the Series having both of them with only one producing, I wonder which one?Or I could have both and still not win a WS hehehe
Anyway- I am a huge fan of Judge. And I am not paying either salary myself.
What he means to the team in October, and I mean any series in October?I'm pretty sure Yankee fans are willing to put up with an occasional fielding issue from Judge given what he means to the team.
If he never produces in October for his whole career, that will be his burden to bear and keep him from being an all time great. What he means to the team in October, and I mean any series in October?
And I will do the same for Soto, considering the calendar still says April. If he never produces in October for his whole career, that will be his burden to bear and keep him from being an all-time great.
I'm not gonna crap on him because he misplaced a few fly balls in his career.
