Ehh anything can happen with a young arm but Aracena has a really high upside. Probably our best arm in the lower minors. I don't hate the deal I do think it's solid but we did give up a good piece. Its going to be important to have a good second lefty in the pen.

Without getting too far ahead, both the Phils & Dodgers have big LH bats that will need to be matched up with in a big spot.
Not sure I want to see Stanek against Harper or Ohtani with a playoff game on the line.
I’ll take my chances with Raley and now Soto in those spots.

Yes and I do like Soto. I know you have to give to get but was hoping we could give up something a little less intriguing. Overall I'm not hating on it one bit it's definitely a move we needed to make.

Dont feel great about this trip as we often struggle out West and haven't been a good road team overall. Especially lately. Hope for 3-3 or at worst 2-4.

Looking at how the Orioles are performing this year after being loaded with such young talent and having a breakout season 2022 and two great seasons in 2023-2024 the Mets have to go all in while players like McNeil, Nimmo, Alonso and Lindor are on the other side of their prime and not yet role players. The same with some of the starting staff. They are building a very deep minor league system which they can continue to use for spare pieces. I'm pretty sure Stearns isn't stupid enough to give up young talent like GM's of the past I believe.

Clearly we can't count on The Varsity to help us put a few games between Philly and now with Plexiglass out it looks like a sweep.

WAR is a very good stat to use. That said playoffs on the line you comfortable with Taylor being able to get a clutch hit? Sure we can pinch hit for him but I’d rather have someone who can play all 9 innings who can be counted on.

Not being negative. Stealing wins is good.

But when you bring your closer into a one run game...
And he faces four batters...
And three of those batters hit 100+ rockets...
And one of those rockets would have been a HR in 29 of the 30 MLB parks...
And you somehow escape...
Well, IMHO you stole that game. If I were to be criticized for that post, I would have thought it would be for making a statement of the obvious.

I've never accused Judge of using PEDs. I've accused him of being injury prone and I'd challenge anyone to dispute that.
