Sadly you are the typical Mets complaining! Great job!
Hey @yesrutgers01 you exposed your bullship again today.
You are a weird dude. Panties in a bunch because someone posted the article about the historic game a rookie had. He didn’t post anything negative about your team and if you really are a baseball fan, it should have just been a fun and interesting post. But while you were sitting down to pee- you just got so upset he put it in your thread that you started crying. You are just strange dude.

So, Rogers is a FA after this year- what is Helsley's contract status? Our BP is absolutely elite at the moment but what happens next year. Diaz will most likely opt out, how does that play out if Helsley is still here?

We still need our guys to get back to hitting and would be nice to get a CF but if our "stars" start hitting, that really doesn't become a big deal. Would almost prefer a trusted SP at this point.

All 3 pen arms we've traded for so far are FA's to be at the end of the season.

That means he is all in this year. Can’t see how he ignores a real bat and SP then. As long as he doesn’t trade any of our top 4 prospects, I am ok. But wow, lots of prospects gone for rentals

I'd say we're still going to bring in a CF today while a top line SP is unlikely. Curious if they sell any type of piece even if we don't get much back in return.

I removed all the guys we traded yesterday so Baez, Dohm, Gilbert, and Tidwell gone. Lambert, Thornton, Yovanny, and Raimon all go from my HM category into the top 30. Thornton is out for the year as is so won't see any stats for him. I think Pipeline will be doing one more re-rank so this will change again at some point in August.

He didn't do as a baseball fan! He did it as a troll Mets fan and he admitted it! He was trying to "help get more posts on the Yankees thread".

he only responded to your craziness. His original post was just about an amazing rookie season and game a kid is having. It should be a good read for any fanbase and no one should take it for a troll in any way. I don't even understand why you had such an issue. I mean, the post had nothing that should have baited you, trolled you or even upset you. That is the only reason i am even responding to you. And you also know that I have not done a single troll post on "your" thread.

Among the newcomers to the Top 30 list, I am most intrigued by Lambert and his plus-plus fastball. MLB Pipeline gives his fastball a 70 on its 20-80 scale. That is very rarely seen.

Dude you are 1000% wrong! It's not a single post. He has been trolling the Yankees thread for awhile now, mocking the low posts on the Yankees thread. That last post was a joke and of course you missed that he admitted it!
You're the one that that's going overboard because you are lacking the entire story!

At the risk of sounding like a things just aren't what they used to be person, the quality of play has really fallen off I guess.
IDK. I think it's the pitching. Pitchers are no longer expected to pace themselves. They throw 98 for as long as they can, generally about five innings. Then teams roll out a bullpen arm throwing 98. And then another. And another.

Don't forget Gomez threw the fastest pitch ever in Statcast history(majors or minors) at 104.5 but as you see with his numbers that hasn't meant much so far. Control a huge issue. He also needs to be added to the 40 man after this season.

Wow, Gomez's fastball is rated 80 which is as good as it gets. But control is only 35. He is projected to make the majors next year. But since he is struggling at high A Brooklyn, I don't see how that is possible.

I agree with the point that is generally hinted at in this article. Tidwell is 24 with a 4 something ERA in AAA and has never lit the world on fire in the minors. Gilbert is an undersized outfielder who's not blazing fast, has limited power, generally sports a minor league OPS somewhere in the 700s, will be 25 before the MLB season ends, and isn't on the 40 man roster. Butto's got a career ERA hovering just below 4. I'm perfectly happy deferring to one of the best front office people in the game on that trade.

Ever since MLB ratcheted up the promotion of minor league prospects and mini Mel Kipers appeared and acted like experts, producing promotional lists and rankings that would never guide decisions of smarter, successful front offices, everyone thinks their team gave up too much. Again, I'm perfectly happy to defer to Stearns. He won't be right all the time. But he'll be right more often than most front offices and certainly way more than the internet.

MLB Network opines that at this point Robert is unlikely to be dealt. No match found. Of course that could change.
Yeah, I am seeing that chatter too. White Sox are not getting the offer they want, and say that they will hold on him, exercise his $20M option, and hope for the best.

We will all know in a couple of hours.

If the trio of Mauricio/Baty/Vientos get their bats going- we play McNeil in CF - Baty at 2B, Mauricio/Vientos between 3B and DH...I think we could live with that not that we have 3 closers(two of them elite, in our BP)

So then... Four acquisitions, four rentals. I am sure that is by design.

Didn't give up the three pitchers I absolutely wanted them to keep.

And didn’t trade Jett or Benge either. You can’t keep everyone but Stearns kept his top 4/5 kids plus didn’t have to deal Acuna/Vientos from Major League roster.
The days of winning with a homegrown roster are long gone. Now you build a core roster and then plug in pieces around it.
While the offense needs to start clicking, I love the rebuilt pen. Get a lead after 5 and then mix & match arms to shut it down.

I end up ok with the deadline. We kept our top prospects, kept Acuna/Mauricio/Baty/Vientos and get 2 elite RP one decent RP a CF with speed and cant hit better than Taylor. And we do not have the weight of carrying their contracts.

Our team is much better then it was before the deadline and we didn't hurt the future

Mets bullpen at this time:

Diaz
Helsley
Rogers
Soto
Raley
Garrett
Stanek
Garcia or Blackburn (when activated)

Looks like the revolving door is finally locked.

They will need to drop a position player to make room for Mullens. My guess is Acuna, who comes back September 1. Taylor is out of options.

Agree 100%. We are a better team today than we were 2 days ago. The wins and loses will either prove that right or wrong and that's why we play the games.

I doubt that they would have gotten much for Acuna. They guy has never hit much wherever he’s been (other than the developmental league). Otherwise, yes, he's a fairly productive utility piece. So keep him, and maybe he’ll have an epiphany at some point.
