Boos might have been for Soto giving up a home run to a guy who Cohen said was hitting .155 off of LHP. But then Cohen often seems to be a jinx. Or they might have been boos for the way they played that inning as a whole.

Highly disappointing but at this point I’m fine to call it a season. This team seemingly has nothing left.

Hang in there for two more days. Maybe just one more day, as Mets can be eliminated tomorrow.

Prior to this series, I said two out of three would do it, as the Reds would not sweep. I still believe that. So we'll see.

Brewers starting a guy tomorrow who has appeared in one game this season. Freddy Peralta is listed for Sunday but I'm thinking it would be an abbreviated start for him. But no putting it on Milwaukee no matter what happens. The Mets have put themselves here with their terrible play since June.

Yeah the Brewers have earned the right to play this however they want. Look at the lineup we threw out there in the 2nd game of the final doubleheader against the Braves last year.

Mets are an overpaid flop but congrats to the Brooklyn Cyclones and Binghamton Rumble Ponies on winning their respective league championships.

Hate to bring more bad news but here it is. Twins lead the Phillies 5-0 in the 8th. If that holds Brewers would clinch number 1 overall seed even with a loss tonight. So what would they care tomorrow.

Well whoever is pitching for the Brewers tomorrow cares, I guarantee you that. No one wants to give up runs.

Dont kid yourself. I guarantee you that Pat Murphy won't play it like a meaningful game. Neither with his pitching or his lineup. Not saying I blame him. We would do the same. It would be Jared Young in RF, Acuna at SS etc. And whoever pitching.

Way too many bad stretches of games during the season to overcome. When you play under 500 for 3 months, I don't care if you got off to a 22 games above 500, it's not enough to secure a postseason appearance.

Brewers earned to do how ever they want to play it out.

Yes and no. The days of the 40 man September roster are gone. You only have five bench players. Even if he plays them all, he has to play four starters. And I really don't see any advantage to resting anybody. They will have five days off.

Anyway, I agree they owe us nothing. They have earned the right to play it anyway they want.

Thats why I said the Phillies losing tonight is the real blow.

All the jokes and memes about choking

If that stuff bothers you, you're taking it a bit too seriously, no?

THEY (the players, management, owner) maybe should be embarrassed, but why should YOU?

You're a Rutgers fan. Haven't you built up natural immunity?

Can’t lose 2 of 3 to Nats at home last weekend as well as so many other inexplicable losses.

That saturday game Vs Nats was the ice breaker.

I have a former co-worker down here who is a big Braves fan and im sure id get it the most from him. Because even through all of the losing streaks I assured him that this was not going to happen. We hate each other's teams of course.

Someone in one of the multiple, terrible Mets groups on FB posed the question of which loss do you think was the most memorable. Simply impossible to measure because every single loss was one that may keep them out. Of course there are those that stand out because theyre more recent. Such as the one to the Nats last weekend where they had the bases loaded in the 9th with one out in a tie game and struck out twice. But overall just the numerous blown leads due to terrible pitching. Either from starters or the pen. As well as the repeated failure to not only produce with RISP, but in situations where even contact would have likely sufficed.

I think the Reds and Mets players may get whiplash watching the scoreboards today...both games at 3:10...Holmes just threw the game of his life - let's see Manaea do the same thing.
Sucks that the Met's are in this position and we love to crush on them- but going into the last 3 series- we all thought going 6-3 would do the job- looks like we would have been correct. We would have been correct. If we win today- it would have been the failure against the Nats that did us in.

But let's win and cross fingers that the Reds **** the bed...

Grandson's Birthday BBQ today and my oldest son will have 2 TV's going. One on the Giants at 1:00pm and one on the Mets when they start at 3:00pm. How many beers I consume will depend on how the day is going. I told my wife to bring her driver's license as she might be driving home, lol.
