Curious what people have used for measuring temperatures either on the grill or in the oven and having it transmitted to an app on your phone.

i use the 4 probe ThermoPro. probes wired to a small digital unit i place next to smoker or oven which is wireless to phone app. wireless signal distance isnt great but it’s good enough.

It’s often necessary. Not for amateur hour burgers, dogs or @4Real’s LoBro but for big boy cookin’.

Actually my youngest wants me to get this so we can use when he comes home from Rutgers for Thanksgiving (turkey) and Christmas (prime rib).

What has this world come to... Lol

Dude, don't give me shade just because I wanna be able to check remotedly how hot my meat is!

Exactly! Also getting a smoker so I figured that'd be another application where I can use it.

not needed for prime rib...look up the idiot proof recipe 15 min at 500 degrees then 13 min per lb for med rare, adjust 2 min more or less for med or rare

That's my wife's job bud. Now if you had an electronic ice cube that you put in your drink that told you when you needed more ice.. šŸ¤”

I use a four probe Ink Bird and also use a Thermopen MK4 instant read thermometer with my smoker, kettle grill etc. both are outstanding tools.

ThermoWorks if you want a really good unit. I use an Ink Bird for a leave-in thermometer because they are inexpensive and seem to be robust. If you don't have an instant-read, I would get a ThermoWorks Thermapen One first.

I have seen Meater, com used on some cooking shows.
I use a meater. Its very well built with a well designed user interface. Only complaint is the range sucks so you can't wander far from the grill...

Maybe that's by design - dont want people wandering too far from their grill duty .
I know some kitchen appliances have short cords be design so that people, kids etc cant pulll them off the counter etc
